UnseenParticipantTwo things continually impress me about these girls: 1) offstage, the last thing they are is a bunch of prima donnas but are a bunch of normal girls; and 2) despite all three being so physically attractive, they continue to not play up that aspect with ultra-revealing clothing and do all of their concerts and most of their videos in street clothes.
They were raised on classical music from an early age and still like it. You’ll see a moment here where Pau stops to listen to a street performer playing violin and identifies the piece as the “Summer” movement of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

There are (so far) fourteen “funny moments videos.” They reveal the girls in their offstage moments when they are not “on.” This is something of a compilation:
And here is a playlist of all of the current ones:
They also do longer “Day” videos which are long, around an hour each, in which they answer questions from their fans. Here is a Dany + Ale Day video. BTW, someone observed something I hadn’t noticed about Ale. When she’s with just one of her sisters she’s an equal participant, but when she’s with both sisters, she’s a little overwhelmed by her two manic/extroverted older sisters and participates less.
They speak “Spanglish,” switching back and forth between English (mostly, because most of their fans speak English, I suppose) and Spanish when they can’t quite find the words in English. Among themselves, however, as in their off moments videos taken by a third party (their producer or a parent?), they tend to speak Spanish throwing in English when it suits them better.

UnseenParticipantThey are one of the few groups popular with both young and old. Speaking as a “boomer,” I like that they are keeping guitar band rock & roll alive and I especially appreciate the power trio format.
I have described them as the only band you can fall in love with, at least that I’m aware of. This is because, besides being such talented musicians, they are such NICE people.
If they were my daughters, I would be so proud of them.

UnseenParticipantOne weird thing about them is that despite their being a kind of family resemblance between them, they look different enough that they could have different parents. Oh, the wonders and mysteries of the genome.

UnseenParticipantHere’s a repost of one discussion I put up last night. A fair amount of work, but here goes:
I’ve enjoyed The Warning more from the sonic aspect. I used to play rock/blues guitar until arthritis got in the way so that’s been my approach. What I’m saying is this: I paid little attention to the group’s lyrics.
The song Choke wasn’t near the top of the list of tunes I have liked. The Top three being in order from #1 to #3 being Martirio, Enter Sandman, and Money.
However, I decided to check out the lyrics to Choke and I think it might supplant Money in my Top Three. It’s an extremely emotional song with lyrics to go along with the almost over the top emotionality of Dany’s delivery. I’ll first put up a performance of the song and I’ll post the lyrics below. I invite you to follow the lyrics as Dany sings them. Before the lyrics, there’s a brief paragraph where the drummer Paulina explains the meaning of the song.
Drummer Pau’s commentary:
“Choke is about being so overwhelmed by your feelings that you start to drown on them and choke on them and we really wanted the song to reflect that hopelessness you sometimes feel and just offer it to everyone as a safe place to feel those feelings and just like a place of comfort for them.”Lyrics:
I won’t say goodbye
In the end, it won’t matter at all
I’m sure
I won’t survive the fallWear your tears like jewelry
That vice is overpriced but
Art is dead it died with me
Don’t cryJust let me drown
Let me drown
Let me dive in
Sink in deeper
Push my head
Choke me till I drownLet me drown
Drifting out of trust
Slipping down my throat
Into my lungs
It’s cold but this is where I’ll stay
Comfortably in painWear your tears like jewelry
That vice is overpriced but
Art is dead it died with me
Don’t cryJust let me drown
Let me drown
Let me dive in
Sink in deeper
Push my head
Choke me till I drownLike a machine every day I’m on hold
Breathe in, breathe out
I keep on waiting, tearing at my will
I wish I would just stopLet me drown
Let me drownLet me dive in
Sink in deeper
Push my head
Choke me till I drownLet me drown
Let me drownLet me dive in
Sink in deeper
Push my head
Choke me till I drownLet me drown

UnseenParticipantDon’t you hate going to a show and the musicians fart around for 10 minutes before starting, tuning their instruments, getting the drums set up right, talking among themselves, etc.? And much the same between songs?
Well, here is a full concert by The Warning. Note how professional it is and how little time is spent farting around. This being a Spanish-speaking audience there might be a bit more audience interaction than elsewhere but this show like all of their shows goes like clockwork.
BTW, even though this show is in Spain the audience knows and sings along with all of the English language lyrics.
Note, too, how long the show is. A lot of acts get away with shows :45-1:00 long. This show is 1:17:00 long.

UnseenParticipantAll three girls are sexy in their own way. Dany is hot, Ale is, well, so gorgeous her sisters tell her she could have been a model (she blushes appropriately), but Pau is just flat out cute. Here she comes out from behind the drums in a short plaid skirt, knee sox, and heels to sing Narcisista about a narcissistic girl. Despite the less than perfect audio, she’s absolutely magical.
Here’s another view, but it’s a bit more work. You’ll have to move the slider up to 1:24:55:
July 15, 2023 at 2:05 am #49224
UnseenParticipantBTW, if you’re not listening to this band with a really good audio system or, better, a headset, you’re probably missing the contribution Ale, the bassist, adds to the group’s beefy sound. Between Dany’s power chords and Ale’s deep driving bass, combined with Pau’s aggressive and hard-hitting percussion, this band has thunderous power.

UnseenParticipantThis is the best live show from the trip to the UK and mainland Europe I’ve been able to find. By the best, I mean with the best audio, though the video is top drawer as well. It sounds like the audio was taken directly off their mics, not from some person’s cell phone.
The story behind this concert in a tiny club-sized venue was that they had a UK tour scheduled but then Covid came along and it became impossible to do the show. Some people got refunds and I think they may feel sad now because (a) this was a private concert for ticket holders and (b) the band has gotten considerably better having had two years to work on their songs and practice, practice, practice.
July 24, 2023 at 4:29 pm #49391
UnseenParticipantRemarkable how talented they were back when Dany was 15, Pau 13, and the then tiny Ale only 10. And Dany had stage presence even then.
They are playing at the private girls school they attended. It was a bilingual school. I’m sure it was a big expense for the girls’ parents.
We need to remind ourselves that they are not an “out of the barrio” story. They had solidly middle-class (by American standards) parents. Her mother is or was a dentist (so all three girls have perfect teeth) and her father is a sound engineer who owns/owned a recording studio. The girls had pro-quality instruments right from the start, though they got even better ones as they proved their talent.
Their parents deserve every complement not just for how they developed their children’s talents, but for how well they raised them as human beings.

UnseenParticipantNew performance video release: “When I’m Alone” from the great Teatro Metropolitan concert last October.

UnseenParticipantThe Warning dropped yet another good one from their October 2022 show. This one is called The Hunter:

UnseenParticipantLately, they’ve been churning out one song after another from the professionally produced October 22 concert at Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City. This is by far the best live version of Revenant by The Warning. A slow ballad with Paulina front and center singing lead. Her voice is so beautiful and compares favorably with Daniela’s.
What is a revenant? Someone who returns especially after a lengthy absence.
