Reg the Fronkey FarmerModeratorThat is the problem. We failed them by not teaching them how to fail.
Absolutely correct. However I think you should have put a “trigger warning” at the start in case anyone was forced into recalling a childhood memory of losing a game of snap or not finishing first in an egg and spoon race. I could add that your one line deserves a medal but then we might have to ensure everyone gets one in case they feel left out. Oh god, I hope I have not offended anyone by saying that. Damn it, we are all victims here. Where are my meds?

ParticipantSure this generation is a little entitled but is it really the reason this happens? Compared to my parents I had it easy. And compared to my grandparents; my parents had it easy.

It didn’t happen overnight. It has reached critical mass. Snowflakes. Can’t function when the job gets demanding. I know because I have to hire them. I manage electrical engineers. They need constant care and feeding, positive reinforcement, They seek daily reaffirmation. If I say one wrong thing I will get fired instantly. It’s bullshit and the US will go down because of it. Shit, now I prefer foreign nationals.

ParticipantYou’re ALL missing the point. It’s has NOTHING to do with “this generation of snowflakes. This kid was tossed aside by society. Same way my son had been. No one helped him. No one cared. Good bye good riddance we can’t have people like you here. Same thing my son experienced. My son is 8 and on an 8 year old level he already has done the equivalent of what this kid did. Society rejected him until I threatened to sue the shit out of the school district. Now they are being forced to repair the damage THEY caused him. THEY failed him. I’m holding them accountable. This kid had a long long long way to fall and ALL OF THE SIGNS OF TROUBLE WERE SCREAMING IN EVERYONED FACE LIKE I AM NOW….
no body cared
good bye good riddance. Society has no place for you
and so he said fuck you…
with bullets.
my son said fuck you with rocks.
rocks, bullets, grenades…..It’s all the same problem.

_Robert_ParticipantBellen, I disagree, having been a naturally troublesome boy myself LOL. However since you also have first hand experience please tell us what you think the United States government should be doing versus what parents should be doing to have troubled boys fit in society.
February 18, 2018 at 12:28 am #7897.
ParticipantThe United States government should throw orange Hitler in jail along with just about everyone else, call for a new election, and get someone in office who has brains. Someone without a dick this time. And THEN….maybe….it can be functional.

_Robert_ParticipantIf Trump does end up getting impeached…there’s Pence. Shit.
February 18, 2018 at 12:49 am #7899.
ParticipantIn light of recent events, Pence should go too.
RE-DO!!!!

ParticipantI understand your anecdotal opinion and it’s okay if you disagree with me. But research shows that boys who demonstrate antisocial behavior as children have a much higher likelihood of continuing violent behavior into adulthood.

StregaModeratorSo basically the answer to the problem is a change of president?

No. I was answering Robert’s question,
“However since you also have first hand experience please tell us what you think the United States government should be doing versus what parents should be doing to have troubled boys fit in society.”
The federal government has absolutely NOTHING to do with helping troubled boys fit in society. The only area it touches in that arena is the separation of church and state in public schools. Helping troubled boys fit into society is the responsibility of the adults around him. And WE are not doing our job in THAT arena.
As far as gun laws, I agree that assault rifles do not belong in the hands of children. And we do need to change that. But my point is that where there’s a will there’s a way. Just because we change the gun laws doesn’t mean this will never happen again. We have to look at what we’re doing wrong as a society that makes SOOOO many young men fall through the cracks.
Canada, Australia and the UK take way better care of its citizens compared to the United States. But then I’m speaking as someone who grew up in New Mexico. People carry guns without a license like crazy and there’s a lot of violent crime. But even if there weren’t any guns it would still be dangerous. Because a very large portion of the population is in poverty, uneducated, a large percentage of the population – again – is kicked out or dropped out of school, and joined a gang, gotten into drugs…etc..
Funny how there was just recently a school shooting in New Mexico and no one batted an eyelash. Oh but NOW it’s important again…
Fake ass empathy man,
They’re throwing guns into the middle of a debate that really should be more about how our society handles violent crime – with or without a weapon. That really needs attention. More people die daily on the streets of Detroit than died in that school shooting – for all of the same reasons.
Too many absent fathers.
Where the men at? The real men..yeah that’s what I thought.
February 18, 2018 at 4:41 am #7904.
Participant….as far as changing presidents, yeah….I’m like REALLY? Why the fuck aren’t we impeaching this asshole yet? I just honestly cannot fathom…

Where the men at? The real men..yeah that’s what I thought. We are in agreement. I actually craved a “father figure” to set my limits. Finally one did enter into my life and it made all the difference. And get this..my “father figure” was my Grandmother !
