Assuming even a modicum of honesty in the reporter’s representation of the facts it is a revealing reflection of the contemporary lefty values. Once again enabling the ineffable horror of the Islamic death cult.

You misspelled “LIAR for Jesus”. Jerry Bergman can only be a LAIR for Jesus if Jesus lives inside of him, if Jerry were the Jesus Cave housing the Jesus Computer and the Jesus-Mobile.

Yeah, this guy’s an idiot, though National Geographic evidently did get it wrong about the Big Bang Theory, assuming he read it right.

The Big Bang Theory doesn’t explain the origin of the Universe, but how the Universe developed to it’s present state. The Universe by definition has always existed, since it is everything that exists and nothing including time exists outside of the Universe.

Jerry Bergman ignores his own citing of the Laws of Thermodynamics. If energy and matter can be neither created nor destroyed, then a God didn’t do it either.

And Jerry Bergman is just so gobble-brained about Evolution and Darwin and History as well. Analogous to The Big Bang Theory, Evolution is not about the origin of life, but how life developed from less complicated to more complicated form. Evolution has nothing to do with Spontaneous Generation, which in turn, also has nothing to do with Abiogeesis. And Darwin wasn’t an Atheist and Atheism in the West existed before Darwin.

If Jerry is a LAIR for Jesus, his attic is a pretty messy unkempt part.

And if Jerry Bergman has got as far as he has in academia teaching this hogwash, then academia has been negligent of its proported mission and deserves any cut it gets from DOGE.

Re: Picking a fight. There is some good advice there, that I wish more xians would take.
2. Don’t assume that your atheist friends are secretly angry at God  (god is just a figurehead. we are angry with your religion.)
3. The Bible is …, but if you quote it to an atheist as an authority, it will be like your doctor explaining his diagnosis by reading a passage from a Harry Potter book.
4. Don’t feel like you have to have all the answers (Stop pretending. Don’t just accept the first answer you were given.)
6. It’s true that science doesn’t have all the answers, (doesn’t claim to) but it does have some of them, and if you try to deny that, you risk pushing yourself into crackpot territory.
7. remember that conversion is ultimately God’s job, not yours. (so STFU)
8. What if Christianity was false and Greek mythology was actually true? What would it take to convince you of that? (Nothing, right? Same as your religion.)

Also, there is no historical evidence that Charles Darwin ever wrote, said, or implied that his goal was to “murder God.”

@unapologetic – Point 3 – I always help xians by  correcting the chapter and verse notations when they start quoting scripture as some type of proof. I then explain the circular nature of their argument and say “If you are trying to prove the Bible is the word of your god by quoting it, then I will quote from Dracula to prove it also is”.

Except, no. None of that is true. Not that it stops President Trump. In the first month since he returned to power, he has demonstrated once again a brazen willingness to advance distortions, conspiracy theories and outright lies to justify major policy decisions.

Mr. Trump has long been unfettered by truth when it comes to boasting about his record and tearing down his enemies. But what were dubbed “alternative facts” in his first term have quickly become a whole alternative reality in his second to lay the groundwork for radical change as he moves to aggressively reshape America and the world.

Can you imagine the opposition to the curriculum if critical thinking were to become paramount? Right up there with reading, writing and arithmetic and a key part of every single school year. Religious parents would view that change as an imposition to their god-given right to mind fuck their children. Other than eastern religions and Judaism perhaps (don’t know too much about it) having questions that may undermine the auctoritas of the religion is at a minimum discouraged and sometimes severely punished up to and including execution. Same thing of course applies to political ideologies. Critical thinking citizenry is not in the interest of those religions or ideologies.

Learning early in life the value of questioning everything including authority would presumably create citizens who would not be as ideologically driven. Trump would never attain any political prominence. If you think critically it only takes a few minutes to discard him as a serious human or serious thinker. The lefty anti-Jew/Israel morality play would have far fewer adherents. The disgusting nativism of Trump would resonate with far fewer. I do have to give props where deserved in that it resulted in that song…They’re eating the dogs…

Another thing about critical thinking is that it naturally ineluctably leads to learning. For instance we hear claims and possibly tendentious evidence to support those claims. So we look for evidence. We can’t speak to the issue intelligently in a vacum. We learn as we investigate. And if we are by nature curious the investigation leads to digression and we learn in that way. Thanks Uncle Lenny who said digression is the oxygen of intelligence.

We are not as intimidated or beholden to authority figures. We realize that humans are fallible and the brightest make mistakes. That doctor who diagnosed you with recalcitrant plebny has been the family doc for 20 years but you get a second opinion instead of being resigned to your recalcitrant fate.

You are more forgiving in that you have learned more about human nature as a result of your lifelong adoption of a critical mindset. You value free speech more than you value dissemination of information or disinformation about ideas you value. The person who goes with the current is typically positing free will in all behavior. You are innately suspicious of group think. Good luck to cult recruiters. Good luck to friends, family or strangers who are trying to proselytize.

The article i cited about Hamasachusetts i listened to some of the hearing and the Massachusetts teacher’s union has 89 documents they recommended for high school teachers. All 89 are Hamas propaganda. Can’t imagine how it is for Jews growing up in USA today. I am sure i would have gotten in lots of fights.
