Drug cartels are all over the world. So I don’t know if I would really say the rest of the developed world sees nothing like it. The thing about the United States and the high levels of incarceration has a lot to do with the fact that prison in and of itself has become a private business that also is profitable and brings in millions of dollars a year on the backs of prisoners, most of which are African-American. If anybody said slavery is dead they are full of shit. Prison is essentially the new, and “legal” form of slavery. The so-called war on drugs has locked up a lot of people for extremely long sentences, lots of which were crimes related to marijuana, which is interesting because it’s now becoming legal slowly but surely….The thing is that the more people that are incarcerated, the more money that they could make. There are so many and I mean so so so many white people that commit the same crime’s, they just end up with community service or lighter sentences (If they are even incarcerated at all)….
