Tal Oran and a Druze Israeli are live describing an ongoing slaughter of Druze in Syria that has been temporarily halted or ameliorated by the IAF. They are comparing it to October 7 with one particular nuance in the way that the Muslims are expressing their religion of peace. So apparently male Druze have this custom of growing out their mustaches as part of some religious BS and the Jihadis are cutting out their upper lips with mustaches attached. Stealing the women and girls to make them sex slaves. Paradise on earth i guess? Insignificant stuff because cultural relativism determines that place of birth is dispositive of how badly abused females can be without the lefty west giving a rat’s unless of course it is the morality play in Gaza.

This is the second massacre and the first got next to no coverage. The prior interventions of Israel on behalf of the Druze in Syria only encouraged the Jihadis because they realized it was just a bluff. The two are saying exactly what i heard from the Syrian atheist who I know that left Syria for Germany that Joulani fooled the west by putting on a suit and shaving and making overtures of peace. Probably makes sense without clear and convincing evidence that once a terrorist always a terrorist.

Al Jazeera and the Muslim Brotherhood can snicker in satisfaction knowing how successful their infiltration and proselytization of westerners towards spreading Islamism and their ultimate objective of a caliphate.

She is an ignorant student who knows the lefty narratives and is probably more intellectually curious than most students. Also probably not a bad person. You can see how the narratives are the basis of an identity that becomes an emotional attachment to the lefty lies. Those memes are continuing to infect the unaware. I would love to know if she reads and educates herself after this encounter. Will she be deconverted? More difficult to deconvert a hard core Christian or hard core lefty?

Yes, the first massacre was only a few months ago when the violence was sparked by a falsified audio attributed to a Druze religious leader, sparking anger among Sunnis who are easily offended enough to murder people. Israel even carried out targeted airstrikes to “protect the Druze”. Some of the Druze even serve in the Israeli army.

FYI – Druze identify as ethnically and religiously distinct from both Muslims and Christians. You must be born as one as their faith does not accept converts or allow people to leave the religion.

Druze are overrepresented in IDF. And it would not surprise me if Israel ends up either annexing Suwayda Province in Southern Syria, creating a humanitarian corridor so that Druze have an escape valve or simply making Syrian Druze Israeli citizens. Druze women in Israel take full advantage of the educational opportunities and in general are model citizens.

In terms of Druze religion my understanding is that at one point Druze were Muslims but they had some variations in their interpretations that caused them to splinter. And because Muslims are so peace loving the Druze are secretive about their religious practices kinda like 14th and 15th century Jews in Spain who had to convert or GTFO. I think they were known as Conversos.

Yes, had a friend from Atheist Ireland in Dublin who is Syrian and lived among a mostly Druze population, before the Civil War.  She was working towards her Masters on a research team that analyzed the brains of people who died from Alzheimer’s disease. I (stupidly) asked her if she got much push back for being an atheist (having wrongly assumed she was ex-Muslim). She said all her family were atheists and always had been but they lived in peace and harmony with Druzes, Christians and Muslims for generations. She said it only became a problem with the start of the Civil War in 2011 when ISIS emerged on the scene. The warriors of the religion of peace don’t like harmony.

She also said that the Druze have their own heritage and tended to integrate secular philosophy into their religion. They were educated and strive for personal advancement. Maybe that’s part of the reason for moving to the Golan Heights. I think they also believe in reincarnation.

I’m back, with a few thoughts on free will and how it relates to your postings.

One, the Greek philosophers, in particular Aristotle, Epictetus, and the Stoics, discussed issues of free will vs. Determinism centuries before and separate from Judaism and Christianity, so one can hold to free will independent of Abrahamic religion.

And as you rightly hint at, free will runs counter to the Abrahamic notion of a Perfect, Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnibenevolent being who somehow creates humans knowing how they will act, yet who doesn’t have the liability that Ford Motors would have for the Pinto of the Seventies.

Two, Antisemitism in all of it’s forms, whether Theological, Racist, or Political, is a denial of free will on the part of Jews.

Christian Theological Antisemitism accuses all Jews everywhere for all time as collectively responsible for killing Jesus Christ and are no longer have any favor in the eyes of God.

Islamic Theological Antisemitism holds that Jews are cursed for denying the Prophethood of Mohammad unless they “revert” to Islam…and simultaneously holds that Allah puts a blinder over the eyes of all unbelievers so that they will not see the truth.

Racist Antisemitism holds that Jews are, by blood inheritance or reading of patterns and size of the skull, responsible for every evil and misdeed on Earth. Racist Antisemitism blames Jews for both Capitalism and Communism, accuses Jews of infiltrating and controlling every medium from tin cans and string to print to broadcast and Internet, infiltrating and controlling academic curricula from kindergarten to college, of being “Cosmopolitans” encouraging “mongrelization” of peoples and corrupters of “our women”…yet with all this Jews are somehow also accused of being incestuously cliquish and clannish and unassimilatable, Racist Antisemitism equates Jews to insapient bacilli and vermin, yet also say Jews naturally have the cunning of the Spawn of Satan.

Political Antisemitism of Anti-Zionism holds that all Jews everywhere are responsible for the policies of Israel simply because they are automatic citizens of Israel and by dint of being considered “White Colonial Settlers” who are irredeemable and unchangeable in the eyes of Wokeism and Critical Race Theory.

With all this being the case, why would you want throw your lot in with Determinism and all the obvious bullshit and falsehood it carries with it?

There’s a strip of I-77 heading towards Raleigh that is sponsored by the American Druze Society. It looked like a clean strip of road, but I didn’t see anyone working out there. I chalked it up to them being so discreet. 🤫😁.

Further along, there was another strip sponsored by Jains. I wondered then how that could even be possible to clean a roadside without stomping a few bugs along the way.🤔😁

While the Druze don’t sound like they would pose a threat to unbelievers, the part about not being able to leave the religion is disturbing. Do Druze who attempt to leave get same deadly treatment that Muslim apostates get? This doesn’t sound like a good match for a society with religious freedom.

Thanks for your thoughtful response.

To touch on some of your points when i brought up the Christian concept of free will i was coming at it from a different perspective. But clearly you’re correct in the way you’ve approached it. The thing in the garden of eden does not exonerate the architect. I was thinking of a free pass given to the architect to explain away evil. Either way, both ways, and in other ways religion is garbage in and garbage out.

Your point regarding Jews and the contempt with which Christians condemn the collective Christ killers who were born long after the fact is a denial of free will is an interesting observation and one that never occurred to me.

When Mohammed was said to have gone to Medina, a city with many Jews and they rejected him as the last prophet and as a leader that had profound and deadly consequences for Jews through the centuries. People of the book in the beginning of the Quran are demonized later. In the interest of brevity i wont expand on that assertion.

You are quite right about the myriad contradictions in the lies concerning Jews. There was no holocaust. Too bad Hitler did not finish what he started. Jews are capitalist pigs who control the banks. Jews are hippy socialist commies. It goes on and on. Jews are also the forever scapegoats. All true.

One little tangent that has occurred to me of late. So in law school i did a paper on history of immigration law in USA and i learned about various racists like Madison Grant and some of the stuff you alluded to like phrenology and eugenics that were policy behind some of our restrictive laws. For instance in such and such a year we will limit Slavs to x number, Jews to x, Chinese to x number. It was pure racism that informed our immigration policy. Make believe or mythology that justified greater numbers of this group and fewer of that group.

Well think about immigration policy today. Wherever the lefties are in power they utilize a mythology that excuses people and provides great succor to people who have been infected by a mind virus known as Islam. In the first instance a mythology is utilized to exclude some groups and favor others. In the latter a mythology borne of Islam and lefty lies is utilized that causes many to fail to see what is right in front of their faces. And then of course far right demonizes the central Americans who according to our great orange orang eating the dogs, eating the cats. Neither the right, nor the left ever learn a thing. It is not about the identity of the people so much as it is about the way they have been conditioned. For the gazillionth time i assert that there is nobody home. Overwhelmingly humans go with the flow in terms of their beliefs and their morality(norms)

To get to your final question why i would side with determinism and against free will. So we can come at issue of free will philosophically. We can come at it as an issue in religion. An issue of physics. An issue of biology.

As a little kid and before any exposure to it i formed my own idea about determinism. But i never questioned my free will or the free will of my fellow sapiens. I am not going to rehash my thought pattern as i encountered various arguments in favor and against. But i had already nearly shut the door on free will and ended up most recently about year or two ago reading Determined by Sapolsky. Sapolsky is primarily a biologist. He denies free will in any way shaper or form and i found his book very persuasive. In essence he explores every idea that has ever been adduced to support free will and he shoots it in the nuts and kicks it up the ass. Ultimately it his knowledge of biology that is so damn near impossible at least for me to circumvent and find free will. Let me link a Sapolsky vid.

I doubt that Antisemites really think that they have free will either.

This is reflected in how they think that some ultimate apocalyptic showdown with the Jews is inevitable. This takes various forms, whether it’s Armageddon and the Second Coming of Christ, Mohammad’s and the Shia Twelveth Mahdi’s return to Earth and the Islamic Last Days with trees and rocks telling Jihadists that Jews are hiding behind them, or a Norse Pagan Ragnarok or a “Race War” that goes global fortold in The Turner Diaries.. Hitler had and HAMAS today has a self-image as being part of something larger than themselves as well.

Fundamentalist Christians express this kind of Fatalism when they say: “I know how the story ends: God wins.” Also they like to smugly show off their pawn status by proclaiming: “I’m not saying all this, God is.”

Fortunately, humans have enough wiggle room to have made countless end-times prophesies false in the past and the present Antisemitic prophesies don’t have to be true either…if only Determinists would wise up.
