_Robert_ParticipantJune already! How dat happen? Have a great week!
Yeah, I hope summer goes by fast in my frame of reference. I have started thinking about Halloween already. Just can’t enjoy nature for more than a few minutes in this heat and humidity.

Reg the Fronkey FarmerModeratorI seldom spend time in the Southern States during the summer months. I can handle 80F – 85F in many countries as I tend to spend a lot of time outside. The humidity gets to me and I find it very unpleasant especially if I want to go for a run. I also don’t like the atmosphere created by air con units unless they are properly maintained. I spent 2 hours in a park this morning (after posting Sunday School) and it was about 67F with a warm breeze. It will be in the mid 70F later so will hit the beach. If only we could have some of the soft Florida powdered sand over here……

StregaModeratorJune already? Why, looking at your heading for today, Reg, we’ve gone and hit July 🙂
also, thank you for Sunday School 🙂

TheEncogitationerParticipantReg,
The role of migration and population dynamics in shaping human history does not necessitate a return to the flawed ideologies of the past.
Coincidentally, I was reading this Quillette article yesterday. I agree with what you say.
Proper study of ancient DNA (aDNA, as it’s called) does not mean revival of Gustav Kossinna’s Kultur-Gruppen or any other racist Anthropology.
It’s a matter of understanding causation and the subject matter at hand.
Even if individuals of a certain genotypic or phenotypic Kultur-Gruppen did create a particular artifact, in order for the artifact to spread. others have to have the capability to understand it and use it. That presupposes that a common cognitive apparatus exists among humans to do so.
Also. studying artifacts among differing peoples shows that even when the artifacts have different designs and esthetic features, they serve the same function and purpose, across time and almost always across place.
Moreover, studying ancient or modern DNA shows how little genetic differences there are between either individuals or groups. Something like .0064 of a percent of genes are all that separates any two humans on Earth.
A study at Hadassah Hospital in Israel showed that Semitic peoples came from a single patrilineal genetic line of which Jews and Arabs are offshoots. This discovery makes the present Gaza-Israel War and the worldwide Intifada all the more sad and absurd and all the more reason to stop it.

Reg the Fronkey FarmerModeratorThanks Strega, someone is paying attention in school 🙂 The problem is Sunday School follows Saturday night! I feel younger already.

I was very deliberate and careful in my wording of the post 🙂

Yes, but what is common sense to one person is often seen as special knowledge to another.

_Robert_ParticipantJP can’t say he is a Christian because he is just smart enough not to be one. Unfortunately, he is intellectually dishonest enough the placate his incel, right wing, manosphere of fan boys, who love to talk-up the bible’s subservient status of women.

TheEncogitationerParticipantReg,
What’s it like to be an AI?
Again again, Bullwinkle? I’m detecting a pattern here.
Look, there was talk that AI could have been used to write RFKJR’s MAHA Report. Until AI becomes smart enough to resist being used by proudly delusional, oblivious jerks like RFKJR, I don’t want to know what it’s like to be an AI.

Perfectly explained. His followers are not smart enough or have enough experience of living independently to see behind the curtain, which is woven from a fake sense of profundity. He seldom answers a question directly and when he does, he employs terminology that sounds intellectual but is always either vague or overly complicated. I have heard people say they find value in what he says but they have never been able to explain what they mean by that to me. There is nothing insightful in what he says.

TheEncogitationerParticipantReg,

No need to be careful with the phrasing of the post except maybe on YouTube or BlueSky or another site that’s gone beyond Woke to Weenie. Then the post may get “unalived.”
Dating of The post is another matter. I questioned my eyesight and sleeping patterns when I saw the first date. 😁

I chalk it up to the all-beef-and-booze diet snapping something in his brain. Look, Jordie, I love a good porterhouse as much anybody, but you gotta have a zesty herb, fruit, and veggie based tenderizer or steak sauce with it, or a garnish of onions, garlic and carrots with a beef stew. And remember alcohol is derived from fruit and grain.
Jordan Peterson’s dietary advice is as valid as RFKJR’s legal eagle medical advice.

TheEncogitationerParticipantReg,
The Slippery Slope of selective recognition: The Anti-Hinduphobia Bill of Georgia
There is a very simple Occam’s Razor to address this: Every individual has equal rights before the law that deserve equal respect, regardless of thoughts, beliefs, or conditions of birth.
Thoughts and beliefs, however, do not have rights and do not deserve equal respect.
One can respect the right to life and belly-laugh at the idea of having more than one life.
