Yes, I use “woke” to mean “ludicrous decisions taken in the name of equality”. Progressive, I like. Woke is ridiculous.
To illustrate how little these terms mean, you can be Woke with a gentle alarm and a cup of coffee or Woke by a gunshot. You can be Progressive going to a new home or Progressive going over a cliff. You can be Conservative of what was copacetic in the past or you can be Conservative of the worst of it.
I knew of a school in the Washington DC area. Many of the Black kids used to come in with their hoods up. The teachers, including the Black ones, said it was disrespectful. The school authority (whoever they were) decided that because it was mainly Black kids doing it, to prevent them would be racist.
You can just imagine what certain other hooded orders said about that.
