The vulgarity of some Christian preachers is proof of the poisonous nature of religion. Their disregard for the truth is proof that they are nothing but puny liars for Jesus. Sometimes though, it is just hilarious. Other times some are so diseased by religion that they become toxic to society.

We are also trying to judge AI from inside the very civilization that is building it. We are not neutral observers outside the experiment. We are active participants inside the process. A simple “pause button” on what a global technological system does is  fantasy. But maybe we should stop pretending that the machine automatically serves us, especially if we hold that reality is centered solely on human experience and not “accelerate the machine” or worship any loss of control over it.

I once told some auditing Scientologists that if reincarnation were true, that I would like to return as “a football pitch in the West of Ireland for the ladies field hockey final on a warm but rain-soaked Sunday “. They were ‘shocked and disgusted’, much to my amusement.

I guess The American Diabetes Association can make rules for admission to their little tree-house, but they sure can’t claim to be for the best interests of Diabetics, especially if they did this on behest of Trump stoolies. Well, they just Streisand-ed themselves.

There’s already a legal doctrine for dealing with Woo: The Implied Warranty of Merchantability, which holds that a product should do what the hypothetical Reasonable Person would expect it to do.

And a Reasonable Person would expect that water with memory would have memory of everything it has ever contacted in the billions of years water has been on Earth.

Under this legal doctrine, Homeopathic “cures” would only be permissable as a theatric or cinematic prop.
