I know what my experience is like, but I cannot objectively explain it because my mind is what my embodied brain does from the inside. Experience is the brain process as lived while brain activity is the experience as observed from outside. No problem so!
We are also trying to judge AI from inside the very civilization that is building it. We are not neutral observers outside the experiment. We are active participants inside the process. A simple “pause button” on what a global technological system does is fantasy. But maybe we should stop pretending that the machine automatically serves us, especially if we hold that reality is centered solely on human experience and not “accelerate the machine” or worship any loss of control over it.
