jakelafortParticipantHave we witnessed any politician as mercurial or unreliable in his utterances? It is just unreal how he switches this way and that and then the interpretations which at this point how do ya put any stock in anything he says? How many times is CNN and MSNBC gonna rehash how Trump said the nuc program was obliterated?
I will say it is to be expected Trump is getting political pressure to end the war with the price of oil on the rise. Seems to me it is an opportunity rather than liability. Why can’t the USA solicit aid in stopping the evil regime from checking the tankers going through the straight? Go after any of the countries who are threatened with higher oil/fewer supplies, desalinization hits and enlist their aid. Whatever obstacles are preventing the normal route should be tackled militarily. Oil tankers should be accompanied by destroyers or vessels that can protect the carriers of oil and food. In exchange Trump can also engender good mojo and dump a bad policy by agreeing to end tariffs on any nations that participate.
This whole deal should be portrayed as a clash of civilization. A counter punch to Islamic jihad. We all are in it and against a common enemy. Highlight the impact of Islamic Iran on not just Israel but all the fuck over including the gulf states. Contrast their relative modernization with the Islamists or Iran. Islamic republic of Iran is kicking the dog upside down lashing out like a raccoon with rabies when it is his boss who his anger should be targeted. Is this unprecedented? IDK Obviously there are numerous examples of conquest and unprovoked aggression. The Germans. The Americans in Mexico. Alexander the Great. Genghis etc. As i am penning i am thinking of USA attacking Cambodia during Vietnam war or American war if you are Vietnamese. But that was strategic albeit unjustified. Well i suppose this is strategic as well. In any event it seems to me an opp is at hand to strengthen American alliances. Get the price of oil down. Cripple Iranian regime. And Israel is wise to attack Hesbollah as it is. Can you imagine the unending attempts to wipe out Israel? They can’t kick the can down the road. Kill the snake. Cut off the tentacles. And when it ends they still have fucking Hamas embedded and another intransigent problem.

Trump doesn’t know when to turn it on and off. Doing it with a foreign enemy is understandable, but playing Star Trek Multi-D Chess with your own citizens just undermines the individual citizen’s ability to plan anything and markets turn into a roller coaster.
How many times is CNN and MSNBC gonna rehash how Trump said the nuc program was obliterated?
I have no problem with repeating that. Last year, the statement was Trump’s first version of “Mission Accomplished.”. And this year, Trump’s doing it again. This both undermines war morale and projects willful stupidity and weakness on the requrements for disarming an aspiring nuclear Caliphate. Exposing this hopefully will get Trump’s handlers to talk sense to him and complete destruction of the nuclear facilities.
This whole deal should be portrayed as a clash of civilization. A counter punch to Islamic jihad. We all are in it and against a common enemy. Highlight the impact of Islamic Iran on not just Israel but all the fuck over including the gulf states.
It wouldn’t be possible to win over the Saudi and Gulf States like this because they are Sunni Islamic States with their own proxies in Al Qaeda and ISIS and Boko Haram. Saudi Arabia and Qatar are the worst of these as possible allies.
And getting Trump to reduce or repeal tariffs will mean he’ll have to concede that his tariffs hurt U.S. consumers worse than his intended targets. He still hasn’t paid us a refund of tariffs or supposed DOGE “savings”, which again, would be another confession of failure.
Best to just focus on demolishing the Mullahs and the IRGC and the weaponry and letting the chips fall where they may with the Saudi and Gulf States. If they repel the Mullah’s attacks, it’s icing on the cake, but as long as Al-Quran rules any of these nations, the world is still not 100% safe.

TheEncogitationerParticipantFellow Unbelievers:
I found the MST3K host segment about Microwave Faith Popcorn. You can fast forward to 5:04 to see it:
Funny thing is, just about all of these Microwave Faith Popcorn predictions actually have came true. The absurdity of life nowadays made this coincidence work):
*Neo-Fascism (the Alt-Right,)
*Bank Failures (1987 and 2007-8),
*Self-Surgery (Home Birth and Lookmaxxing,)
*Spray on Skin Liner for Underwear (Mystique in the X-Men movies),
*Grandpa Tossing (Done from the doors of New York rest homes during COVID-19),
*Bras For Businessmen (See your local drag club.)
*Even Feminist Catholicism (Candace Owens and Carrie Prejean Boller aspiring to The Papacy and Grand Inquisitor),
*Jerry Reed elected to high public office (Didn’t happen, but Jesse Ventura and Donald Trump are close enough for Government Work.)

jakelafortParticipantEnco,
Doesn’t seem to me that Trump is capable of controlling his impulsivity and meandering and tangential thoughts. Therefore it is ridiculous to harp on a he said by media. Pathological liar and changes course in same sentence. It is a way to stir controversy and ire in the democratic base. Keep hate simmering. It is also a consequence of granting power to a figure who is not or rather should not be a serious political figure. Anyone else in the public eye and their words matter. They can be held to account or captured in lies or dissimulation. It can and does have consequences. Not Trump. A B A C A D B all within a few days.
Sunni states can distinguish themselves from Shia and feel like King Cholo for doing so. Furthermore objectively they have made strides towards modernity. Some of em anyways. Qatar is an abomination. Arab nationalism or pan Arab movement got its shit handed to it by Israel in war. The old playbook of kick the Jew in the nuts and blame the Jew for screaming is not as puissant as it was in some of these states. Blaming everything on the zionist entity so that the citizenry is distracted in a twist on Bread and Circus is on decline in some of those Gulf states.
So i think a play can be made and in reality states act in their perceived best interest and independent of narratives. Right now Iran is their enemy. Joining a coalition against them is prudent.
As for European states i think the far left is and will continue to be discredited. I am confident the wrong lessons will be drawn in the wake of this war. It will be same underlying error. Muslims are evil! Not the ideology. Not just the fundamentalists but the fundamentals of Islam. Hopefully it will be increasingly evident that religion must always be a private stupidity and not entwined in government. Free speech against power can not be curtailed because it will hurt the feelings of the adherents of some religion or ideology.
I have no idea how Trump conceives of his tariff policy. What i am saying is that the situation gives him an off-ramp to jettison tariffs in exchange for allies working with the coalition and against Islamic Republic of Iran. Spirit of cooperation. Restore good or better relations with traditional allies. He would be altering his tariff policy as an incentive to join together in the band not because it is a failed policy.
Yes USA and Israel ought to continue to eviscerate the military power of the enemy and kill as many in power as they can. Nuclear scientists, religious freaks, IRGC and related military.

While I wouldn’t get in the way of Sunni regimes when they make a mistake, It would be setting us up to be bested by Al-Qaeda and ISIS to consider these Sunni regimes to be allies. That has already happened with Syria.
Defeating Islamofascism means defeating both the Sunni and Shia flavors. Holding off on one sect should not translate into neglect.
As for Europe, perhaps they would get their courage up to stand up to Islamofascism as well as Putin if they either provide their own offshore oil or if they had the U.S. as a supplier. But, of course, Trump has broken Europe’s trust with his crazy take-over-Greenland talk.

jakelafortParticipantSunni, Shia, cha cha chia.
Is it Christ.mas again?
It’s good to see ya.
Sleep of reason comes in flavors. We are up here. They are cavers beholden to their mind virus slavers. Give em tootsie pops or life savers.
Monarchies sometimes find it prudent to damper the spirit of the flight from reason. So give em tootsie pops or life savers. Encourage that alignment of self interest.
And ultimately reason needs to prevail in altering the zeitgeist. The far left is simply a big fat stupid racist construct incapable of engineering the social order it hopes to attain. Its adherents are indeed useful idiots.

jakelafortParticipantScrambling thoughts.
Just heard an x CIA director say sleeper cells of Iranian origin were forming during his tenure. He assumes they are here and a threat. Ok so play it out. They strike. Cause serious death and destruction. Terror. How does USA respond? Invasion on ground? I think so. And how are American Muslims and American Jews treated in the wake of the attack and US invasion?
I think there is little to no question American Muslims would be attacked. We have recent evidence from Sep 11. And even Asians in wake of “Kung Flu” felt a bit of a hit. The lefty’s would be harping on ISRAEL fucking zionist entity got us into this quagmire. Conspiracy theories of left and right would follow and Jews would face even greater hatred.
This Hormuzian straight jacket just seems to cry out for international cooperation and isolating Islamic Republic. Mine sweepers. Escorts. More sanctions on Islamic Republic and a coalition that helps militarily for economic reasons.
If there is an invasion the US/Israeli troops will be aided by air support and Kurds & whatever other minorities and revolutionaries and would probably be a greater number than the combined regime forces. Plus i think all but the hardcore will desert. That is if it is safer to desert than man the fort. And that fort will look not appear seaworthy.

Until Islam has no say in things and there are grown-ups in the room, there can be no candy for the Saudi and Gulf States.
How many licks will it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of that Tootsie Pop? We’re finding out now with Iran, but unfortunately, Messers Cow, Fox, Turtle, and Owl combined have more intellect and tenacity than Mr.Trump. This will take time.
Meanwhile, Chia seed is supposed to be quite healthful, so tuck in and enjoy.

In the context of the present war, the Orthodox “pimple” could turn into an infectious boil that could get people killed. Sound like Israel needs some charcoal strips to treat that!
And Iran is still around, just transforming.

Reg, is he of the opinion that consciousness and time are related? If so is it experienced differently by organisms with different levels of consciousness? Also is there anything fundamental about the interaction between the observer and reality?
