Other thoughts on Israel’s Ultra Orthodoxers: In the U.S., this would be like The He-Man Woman-Haters Club insisting to the Military that they have their own designated base.

While private individuals can do this in civilian life with their own funds and tree-houses, this has no place in Military life, especially during a war!

Israelis need to forget everyday kvetch-ing and kvell-ing when facing a common threat that would vaporize them all in a moment!

Also, if I recall correctly, Orthodoxers are not required to serve in the Israeli Military like other Jewish Citizens. Yet these Orthodoxers dare to dictate to other Israelis the terms of their service! Talk about Chutzpah!

(Of course, I am against conscription for anyone. In the case of Israel, being surrounded on all sides by people wanting your head is enough to encourage anyone to do something to defend the homeland, even if it’s just Grandpa and Grandma sitting on the porch with the Uzi and the Galil.)

Let this also be proof to all that one can constructively criticize aspects of Judaism and Israeli society in a spirit of tough love without being either anti-Jewish or anti-Israel.

I have not been following it beyond superficial acquaintance but there have been protests and violence in Israel over the Haredi being treated like other Jewish Israelis. I think the law in Israel presently is indeed mandatory service. Formerly they were exempt from military. It is optional for Arab Israelis. Druze are over-represented. It is a big political issue and it affects the coalitions and who ultimately has the power.

Yes these mofo have gotten a pass and in so doing posited their inherent superiority over ordinary Israelis. It is sickening. Tiny country and tiny population being opposed by larger nations and massive manpower so Uncle Solomon needs you! Conscription really is a necessity i think. I wish Syrian Druze had been given citizenship en masse since they are such good citizens and so loyal to host nations. Great fighters apparently and more gung ho and gamer than Dick Tracy. Plus they could have escaped the persecution of the Syrian terrorists in charge and Bedouins of Syria. Seemed like a win/win but alas and a smack a lack crack is whack.

GBNews judging from some of it’s contributors may be an outrage machine, but The Mullahs in Iran would generate a tempest in Russell’s Teapot from all the way on the other side of the Sun. Everything said on that video was correct. I learned also that Iran has the same problems with rotgut liquor as the U.S. had in the days of Prohibition.

I was just reading a social media post in which someone said I love Jews.

One after another with the i just hate zionists. I just hate Netanyahoo. I just hate Israel. Etc. I asked em to define Zionist. They couldn’t. I wrote, “if someone said I love the French would you think I love the French i just hate Macron.” I don’t think it even sunk in their dead heads.

All we can do is speculate. Here are some factors to consider. 2000 plus marines are on there way along with amphibious assault ships. If i read the room 80 to 85 percent of Iranians are against the Islamic regime. Decades and decades of repression and persecution and imposed religious intolerance for a population that is not all gung ho over theistic nonsense.

The population is largely unarmed and that is by design. Kurds though who have had to fight and fight have military experience & arms and want to topple the tumbless towers of Islam. Other minorities in keeping with Islamic apartheid have also experienced persecution. Thus there is a reservoir of aggrieved Iranians (some of whom have recently lost family in the protests) and whose desperation is sufficient to risk it all and take up arms. When shit hits the fan like the Russian Revolution blood pours like wine at bacchanalian orgy.

From reports Israel and US have total air dominance. This was an important factor in WW11 but ponder how much more lethal and precise today’s air power. US and Israel have highly trained and skilled special OPs soldiers. Israel has mossad there and incredible intelligence which is self evident based on their exploits. You fear Trump understandably but to my knowledge the military operates independently in terms of its execution of war plans. I can envision various situations and scenarios coming together to topple that horrific regime. So as to avoid writing War and more War i will leave it at that.

Like what the guy in your video (sorry forgot his name) said, Iranians remained under control in spite of the decades of repression. You and I both hope powers will be overturned. I’d feel good if Trump got lucky on this transition attempt.

Our total air dominance is real, its modern surgical precision is unprecedentedly powerful, and I’ll bet you’re right that intelligence and special ops can have successes. Yes, the military operates independently, but Trump can still define policy, especially if Congress supports him.

I’m all in, but feel we’re still rolling dice with Trump, and I worry about it. I even worry about a ship carrying hidden Shahed drones to the west coast, because I wouldn’t put it past Trump to ignore that kind of threat in order to have an excuse to ramp up ICE and military presence in blue cities, before November. He also owns the FBI, and is actively requesting (or even extorting, if that’s the right word?) voter role data from states.

On some days for me, it feels like dystopia all the way down. I see a lot of people not yet privy to potential threats, like those that Marc Elias has been taking to supreme courts, and winning some cases. He’s still worried it won’t be enough.

Your query bout lefty ideologue is very merry and though provoking. The effect of the lefty lady ideologue pontificating in tired tropes and hackneyed narratives is identical irrespective of your location or hers. Sound waves, amplitude, vacuous and vapid…

Whether the regime will be toppled is beyond anyone’s ken or so i suspect. It is easy to make a case either way. Plausible assertions. Rate of desertions will be closely connected to those assertions. I listened to a guy who is Iranian American and a high mucky muck who knows Pahlavi and he portrays him as a bit more power hungry than he comes across. However he thinks if he comes to power it will be the equivalent of Trump’s rule. And that represents an amelioration of prior regime that will be palpable and welcome.

The vulnerabilities in USA and elsewhere to terrorism are incalculable. Witness Israel and how many terrorist attacks it has sustained in spite of its diminutive geography and human vigilance/know how. I feel the paucity or limited number of terrorist attacks from Muslims (yea i guess it is over 40 thousand since 9/11 but few of great magnitude, easy for me to say) is deliberate. The Muslim Brotherhood would never accomplish its goals if it attacked willy nilly. It would defeat their objectives. Islamic republic is not part of Muslim Brotherhood but their goals are aligned ultimately. If they succeed can you imagine the war between the two major sects?

If the defeat is ignominious who knows how far these fuckers would go in terrorism? Did you notice there is a new Shia terror group attacking Jews in Europe? God knows there is no shortage of brain dead who are gung ho to die for the cause.

Making people do shit, whether it’s fighting or “public works” projects, is a bug in any liberation movement.

And conscription is totally unnecessary as demonstrated by the fact the best fighters–Rangers, Airborne, Green Berets, Navy SEALs, Delta Force, Marine Recon, and Pilots in all Branches–are volunteers, and not only volunteers, but have to voluntarily exert the mental and physical effort to qualify for these positions. And these volunteer fighters are in the fight right now!

Also, good luck getting Orthodoxers to fight if the mascot of Israel is called Uncle Solomon. Solomon was not especially devout when consorting with strange flesh to expand his power.

And getting Orthodoxers to fight is hard enough. If I recall correctly, at least some Orthodoxers don’t even recognize post-1948 Israel as legitimate.

There is no contradiction in saying these two things:

One, that the Islamist regime in Iran has had it coming for 47 years since they effectively declared war on the U.S , Israel. and World Civilization in general.

Two, that the present U.S. President is the worst, most incompetant President to confront that threat.
