”We Homo Sapiens just surround our wars with ideology and religion” is quite a profound statement.
This fits in with the behaviours of some of the far flung tribal groups I’ve lived with. For them, religion is a comfort, not a cause. They still have aggression, but the dividers between ‘them’ and ‘us’ are more commonly tribal root orientat…[Read more]

Why humans are not clever chimps. (interesting site)
Well, there are lots of things to be said here.
A 13.5 percent difference in DNA versus 1.4 percent difference is still comparatively close and humans, chimps, and apes are still close enough to all be equally on the primate branch of the Darwinian Tree of Life.…[Read more]

Sunday School 3 weeks, 4 days agoThe chimp article was spurious if not arboreous.
The herd won’t chime in if they’re incurious.
Where to start. Let me see. Rip it up and set the herd free. The notion that bias seeps into science is true. It does not however follow that Jane Goodall’s conclusions were nonscientific and one of the bases of bias.

Sunday School 3 weeks, 5 days agoFacilitated Communication sits at the intersection of hope, identity, and perceived injustice, which makes it unusually resistant to evidence. When you watch FC in action, it can be convincing. The person appears to be communicating fluently, even sometimes at a level far beyond what anyone expected. The problem is that this impression is exactly…[Read more]

I admit I am coming at this from a place of bias as a Sapient-ist, and it probably not fair for me to “What-about” with dumb animals who can’t argue back. But I do want to stand against making humans seem worse than other species too.

Ya can’t take out the instinct of a feline notwithstanding artificial selection. They are predators to the core. I should not say that because in all likelihood given enough time and artificial selection it might be diminished and ultimately end.
