Jody LeeParticipantSaw an article recently indicating there is a part of our brain that remains the same throughout our lives and gives us our sense of self. Can’t find it so no link. Although there is a chance i am nuts.
I’m glad our sense of self remains the same. I kind of like who I am.
@jake, just because Simon found the article, there’s still a chance you’re nuts. We all are…😄-

Jody LeeParticipantOne million cells in your body die every second. You are not the you that you were 5 minutes ago. It’s the cells that don’t die that you have to worry about.
This is true.

Jody LeeParticipantHmmm. I’m going to say neither. The process of build has to account for something. So whether or the not the parts are the same each process is different for the one who is constructing. Therefore the outcome is two different ships or people. Similar in ways, but ultimately different.

Jody LeeParticipant@Reg That was thought provoking to say the least. I rather enjoyed (am still enjoying) thinking on it. Maybe we are not new people (or a new ship) only the same person with new parts. And the old parts that we give away, belong to someone else now and are now part of them and their ship.

Jody LeeParticipantI knew part of the diddy, but have never heard the whole song. It’s annoyingly catchy.😆

Jody LeeParticipant“So much so that many scientists believe that for the first time, instead of the planet shaping humans, humans are knowingly shaping the planet.”
That is a sad statement. As I get older, I find myself becoming frustrated at people in my life with careless, selfish, wasteful lifestyles. Instead of being a stronger advocate for the cause and speaking out, I tend to just withdraw from them. My behavior in turn is just as bad as the ones leading themselves into a state of idiocracy. I need to overcome and be more proactive in holding people accountable instead of shrinking away in disgust… that’s not helping anyone.
It would be a beautiful thing to see Biden decline an invitation to speak at the NPB.
I’m glad to see the stave church rescued and reused. The building is a work of art. I wish more contractors used more of that type of building these days… much more interesting to look at.
I enjoyed the article on kindness and believe the world is lacking in truly kind people. Don’t get me wrong, people love to SEEM kind, by posting quotes on social media about being kind and spreading it, but fail to route that energy into actual kindness. Like many other things, I believe more genuine intent and action could change the world.
Your photography choices are great. The eclipse in Patagonia and the starlings in Rome are my favorites… however, the The Fall of the Naked Cowboy did give me a little laugh.
Thanks for the reads on this cold morning. ✌

Jody LeeParticipant@unseen Yes, that’s me and thank you for the compliments.
@encogitationer I like your rendition of Oh Happy Day.

Jody LeeParticipantThanks, Jake! It’s a result of being one step closer to some type of normalization. But really just wanted to show off my awesome shirt! 😁

Jody LeeParticipantOver 48 hours later…No side effects. We vaccinated 106 people and the only complaint was tenderness in the injection site.

Jody LeeParticipantWe received the Pfizer vaccine. It was at a normal refrigerated temperature and did not feel cold going into my arm. They are able to be refrigerated for five days before being reconstituted and can be held for up to 6 hours after being reconstituted.
Honestly, I didn’t feel much of anything and still don’t.
I am grateful to hear of your respect for long term care workers…they don’t get enough. And, yes, operations is no walk in the park or by the lake or any other peaceful location… I have been here for 15 years and never questioned healthcare until this year.

Jody LeeParticipantNot painful at all and no side effects yet! We’ve vaccinated 38 staff and 35 residents so far with NO side effects. 🙂

Jody LeeParticipantWe were one of 40 centers in the state to receive vaccinations this week. ❤
