    The developing world would have a lot less child mortality if we could stop reverse-developing regimes from recruiting and kidnapping children for combat. Maybe FEMA’s Gregg Phillips could teleport Iran’s children safely away from the IRGC:

    Iran accused of war crime for recruiting children; FEMA official claims he was teleported by God

    That is generous of Ukraine to send drones to open up the Strait, even though Ukraine is still facing problems with Putin.

    I just hope when this is all over, the drones don’t end up used against the West by equally dangerous Sunni regimes and terrorists.

    There is a new study done on benefits of getting the Shingles vaccine. I will get it soon as I had chicken pox when I was young.

    Highly recommended. I got my two shots a few years ago, since I had Chicken Pox as a kid. The Shingles vaccine comes in a pair of shots spaced out over 2-6 months and you get to have fun saying the tongue-twister “second Shingles shot.” 😋

    I say “Highly Recommended” because a friend of my Grandfather got the Shingles and it spread into his lungs. He couldn’t breathe or speak without struggle and eventually couldn’t hold down solid food well. He then tried to relieve his suffering with a shotgun, unsuccessfully. He died of his self-harm in a rest home shortly thereafter.

    RFK Jr. and MAHA can’t tell me a damn thing against vaccines that I will listen to!

    I get the connection you’re making, but really, is there more than just the name to discredit good science in a different discipline?

    I’ll take as a win, the fact that we agree about Musk.

    I should be more clear: I am all for vaccines as a life-saving technology. I think they should be available over-the-counter in Epi-Pens, even shipped to your door by your pharmacist when your vaccine schedule says it’s time for a boost.

    What I’m saying is that Paul Ehrlich was no supporter of evidence-based, life-saving, human-flourishing science.

    Paul Ehrlich was a harbinger of hopeless misanthropic doom worthy of a place next to Hal Lindsey and every other street corner ranter with a “The-End-Is-Near” sandwich board.

    Paul Ehrlich persisted in his gospel of overpopulation and global scarcity against all evidence…

    even when The Green Revolution lifted a billion humans out of starvation…

    even when he lost a famous public bet with Economist Julian Simon on rising prices of resources…

    even when Earth’s population nearly doubled in the 68 years since he and his wife wrote The Population Bomb, with no apocalyptic after-taste!

    And even when consistently proven wrong, Paul Ehrlich persisted in supporting and inspiring totalitarian mandatory Zero Population Growth family size limits, including mandatory sterilization and mandatory abortions in Red China, India, and Indonesia.

    And despite all this doom-mongering, Paul and Anne Ehrlich had one child, a daughter Anne, themselves. Poor girl. Crumb-crunchers for we, but not for thee.

    Only recently did Paul Ehrlich practice what he preached for everyone else and stopped taking up resources and space, as told in his obituary.

    Musk is out of his depth on vaccines (and probably on rocketry too, judging from how he like to blow shit up on his launch pads)…

    But just gotta say, Germany isn’t helping it’s case by naming it’s vaccine regulator the Paul Ehrlich Institute, if this is the same one who wrote The Population Bomb which held that we humans reached beyond Earth’s carrying capacity when the population reached 4.5 billion. Doesn’t sound like Paul Ehrlich would want more life-saving vaccines.

    Here is one of his many speeches on overpopulation and depletion of resources. A real life of the block party!:

    That should be Thank Gregor Mendel, Norman Borlaug, and Genentech for GMOs. Gaia née Earth just unconsciously provided the raw materials.

    And the most important reason for thanks is The Green Revolution that saved a billion humans from starvation. This helps people cope with reality without psychotropic drugs.

    We’re all on the same topic. The same God William Lane Craig is trying to defend is the same God that Donald J. Trump thinks and portrays himself to be and the same God whose standards MAGA zombies use to judge Trump. And since God-guided MAGA is splitting up on Trump for various reasons, there is no God-guided consensus in MAGA.

    Also, the same God is believed and embraced by Dr. Laura Schlessinger when she espouses “family values” to her callers which she didn’t herself practice.

    Some God and some foundation for morality, huh?

    As much as I’ll be glad when Trump is out of the White House, I’ll be so sad if this is what gets him thrown out:

    Let that sink in:

    Christians in the U.S. are willing to let their President:

    take their economy to Hell;
    alienate former allies while hob-nobbing with dictators Putin, Xi, Kim, and the shaky Sheikhs of the Gulf States;
    attempt to conquer Greenland and Venezuela while waging a half-ass war on the Mullahs of Iran, waste time, treasure, and respect of the world with vanity projects and participation trophies;

    But the thing that gets them riled at their President is when he blasphemes their other Man-God!

    World of Woo: Netflix and The Plastic Detox.

    Glad you posted this. It fits in nicely with my earlier post on the problem of even accurately detecting microplastics and thus determining how much, if any, is toxic.

    So far, the biggest dangers posed by plastic are from standing water in containers, sharp edges on hard plastics, and trip hazards on the beach. All decidedly macro, not micro or nano. Nothing that can’t be solved with sanitation crews and laws against littering.

    Scares like this were like the scares from the Seventies and early Eighties about everything causing cancer, not just asbestos and tobacco, even though humans would have to drink gallons of diet soda over the course of years to match the equivalent amount of saccarine the lab rats got. This hysteria actually helped create the disdain and distrust of science we see today.

    The Plastic Detox joins Ancient Aliens and Ancient Apocalypse as reasons not to subscribe to Netflix.

    Me troll Christians?? Never! I am only gently admonishing them with my wise words.

    “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly, as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom.” Colossians 3:16

    So you’re fighting Christianity by becoming one? I’m perplexed and not even Maimonides could be a guide on this one.

    Of course for any deep and meaningful bible debates I ask them the serious questions 🙂

    Dr Laura? I’m surprised she is a thing with anybody anymore. After all, she’s not mentioned by anyone in MAGA or any of the factions of Podcast-istan. As far as I’m concerned, taking on Dr. Laura is the equivalent of fighting the last war.

    By the way, why doesn’t the owner of this Forum ever participate? Inquiring minds want to know…

    A great video from Kyle Hill on Microplastics and the difficulty in measuring what, if any, health effects they have. Kyle also has great thoughtful content busting myths about radiation and nuclear energy:

    Strega.

    Enco, we were moderators until this software issue, which probably stems from someone trying to fix the fact we could suddenly see IP addresses.

    We are referring to the site owner, @Rebel when we need to consult. He doesn’t moderate.

    so right now, we are all moderated purely by our own sense of decorum…

    So, why doesn’t the owner ever join in on our brain pan drainings?

    What’s with the concern trolling of Christians? If Christians get their own doctrines wrong, don’t get in their way in making a mistake.

    Then, if you can, step in to fill the void. Preferably, including a job or a want ad for one.

    Now, as for why MAGA people wear Crucifixes, it could be because they’re fans of Michael “Soy-Faced” Knowles 👦🏻, or it could be to repel Trump’s latest attempt to bleed them dry.🧛🏼

    Simon,

    Don’t feed the Creationists! They still think teaching Evolution is a Commie plot, notwithstanding that Stalin made Trofim Lysenko’s Lamarckian views into dogma, something Evolution informed by Mendelian Genetics would not do.
