Sunday School 2 years, 2 months agoThe article on ‘He Gets Us’ reminds me of the Jay & Silent Bob movie (I forgot the name) where George Carlin plays a preacher who rolls out a statue of “Buddy Jesus” to get young people into the church.

Sorry Reg. I hate bands like Slayer who shout the lyrics. All I could make out was the choirs “god hates us all”.
While searching for that vid, I found this:
The disclaimer at the end (small print) says it’s not endorsed and the voice is computer generated.

As for the Bible study in the meeting room, don’t sweat it. If that place takes Section 8, they literally haven’t got a prayer. What do you mean?
Every place that goes Section 8 that I’ve seen turns into a revolving-door managed, dilapidated, litter-filled, neglected, crime-filled war zone!

R’men,
Does anyone know if the church of FSM is recognized as a religion by the state of PA, or HUD?
My apt building (subsidized by HUD) is allowing a ‘bible study’ every Monday. In the public meeting room.
I want to challenge this by asking to hold a pastafairian meet on Fridays.
I expect to be refused. -

I claim the right to be is-lame-aphobic, because I am also christian phobic.
I’ve only known one ‘muslem’.
He was black, US born, and a proud member of MENSA.
Said he became muslem because christianity was a ‘white man’s religion’.
Also clamed is-lame was more respectful of women than christianity. Go figure.
Other than that, I respected…[Read more] -

Music Lovers 2 years, 3 months agoThanks for the info about music copyrights.
I know nothing about music copyrights. I’ve never heard of ‘reactors’ before. (and don’t care to) I am more familiar with comix copyrights.
I used to have a site about underground comix. I posted several hundred comix covers (that is book covers, .JPGs, not music).
I felt a single page, the cover, was…[Read more] -

I like the PMJ version. Hate the original.
It was used in an ad for online bingo recently. “All About The (something)” Ugh.

But I’ll always like the Fantasia version best.
Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue moves me.
As does Tubular Bells. I’ve never seen ‘The Exorsist’. But I played the Tubular Bells album all the time, and roomates at the time accused me of…[Read more] -

I can’t say this gives me goosebumps every time, as I’ve only heard it once.
As teenager I’ve heard the terms ‘Torch Song’ and ‘Torch Singer’ but didn’t know what they meant. I didn’t recognize anything I was familiar with in those terms. And I didn’t care enough to ask anybody. But…[Read more] -

I sometimes sing along with ‘Mad World’ when I’m depressed. So I hate this version.
