Belle RoseParticipantAnd i for one will not sit quietly as you and Enco hurl racial epithets and minimize their place and importance.
Jake I am not hurling any racial epithets or minimizing their place of importance. Not by a long shot. I even said it in my post. The comment “ Maybe a lot of other things, but racist is not one of them” I also have deep respect for the VFW for many reasons which I will not go into here. I am simply pointing out to you that your comment about it being racist is inaccurate because it has nothing to do with race. If you insert a different word in there it would be more accurate. I’m not going to tell you what word to use, but racist is not the right word. That’s it. That was my entire point. Don’t put words in my mouth.

TheEncogitationerParticipantBelle,
Jake’s just jerking your chain. He knows this isn’t an issue of racism. 😁

jakelafortParticipantEnco, first it was VERY FUCKING WHITE and now Chain.
You said chain. Chain is racist!

UnseenParticipantYour side is winning bigtime so you hop on a plane to go to Washington to beg for more and bigger weapons. That’s what Zelenskyyyy is doing today. Because they have Russia on the ropes. Yeah.
That doesn’t make sense to me.

jakelafortParticipantBiden pledged further support.

Simon PayntonParticipantUkraine is winning with the help of Western military hardware. Russia is not losing because it has inferior military hardware. In most respects, it would appear to be an inferior fighting force, including the calibre of its leadership (Putin).

Maybe I should have said, fire power. It is a larger force, surely, than the Ukrainian army, with physically more weapons.

UnseenParticipantBiden didn’t even meet Zenenskyyyy at the airport. He sent his Chief of Protocol (a more opaque title would be hard to imagine) instead.
$44 billion more money being tossed into the Ukrainian hole in the ground. In a country which sorely needs to repair its infrastructure, to dump private health care in favor of a European-like universal system, and where higher education is increasingly more out of reach for so many, we have spent probably more than $100 billion directly. And that’s not counting the resources diverted to support Ukraine.

_Robert_ParticipantThat’s peanuts to take out the Ruskies.

But you are probably right, I mean you have the mental giants Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert who agree with you. But don’t worry, they are all about your healthcare, LOL

_Robert_ParticipantLet’s face it. 98% of weapons just get tossed anyways, never used. There are new generations of arms that will replace them. Gotta stay on top. I have to laugh, Russia has been talking about their new super tank, the Armata for decades. We haven’t seen 1 of them in Ukraine yet. It wouldn’t matter if they had them anyways.

Yeah, every time they figure out an oligarch embezzled money for slated for arms, another one goes out a window. Putin has assembled the most corrupt government in history.

UnseenParticipantDon’t worry. Biden assured Zelenskyyyy that we’ll be spending more money than we have for as long as it takes (which will be when the military-industrial complex says “We don’t want to make any more money”).

_Robert_Participant@robert Don’t worry. Biden assured Zelenskyyyy that we’ll be spending more money than we have for as long as it takes (which will be when the military-industrial complex says “We don’t want to make any more money”).
We already spent that money mostly because of Russia. If Russia was out of the picture, we can reorganize to be able to counter China and Iran if they decide they want to be the next aggressors. Russia has cost the US taxpayers TRILLIONS over the decades with the cold war but at least you get high paying jobs out of it.

jakelafortParticipant@humanity-Don’t worry. We continue to treat each war symptomatically. Don’t worry we’ll just keep coloring the others as bad guys. Don’t worry when this war ends new wars will erupt. Don’t worry. Be happy.
Don’t worry. The march of folly will be undisturbed. A change in path is anath emaaaaa…

What? So people on the home front can die waiting in line for non-elective care and we can pay for Ivory Tower crap like this???
The Stanford Guide to Acceptable Words
Behold the school’s Elimination of Harmful Language Initiative.
https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-stanford-guide-to-acceptable-words-elimination-of-harmful-language-initiative-11671489552This is what Pell Grants and Student Loans (and, of course, student loan forgiveness) go to pay for in Academia, along with “Wokeist” neo-religion and Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity (DIE) HR policies.
You see how it’s spilled onto Jake. He’s now seeing a racist under every bush! 🤪
If all that gravy train ended, Academia could return to sanity, people would be admitted and hired on the basis of merit and ability, and, as a side benefit, Universities would have to lower tuitions to get and retain more students.
December 22, 2022 at 10:00 pm #46235
jakelafortParticipantCarlin would have some fun with that.
No balls to the wall? Fuck that shit.
Where is the People of color as a harmful handle?
