PopeBeanieModeratorDaily Beast interview with Michael Wolff, about Trump and a couple of his female staff. Eleven minutes:

PopeBeanieModeratorI rarely pay attention to up-to-the-minute news. But living in Trumpian times is unlike other times in US history. I heard news that Vance visited one of the Murdochs a few days ago, so the 25th amendment may become relevant? To be honest, I’ve lost sleep in some recent days.
Nine minutes long, if you don’t count the last two minutes of the video makers’ self-promotion:

PopeBeanieModeratorPromoting Incompetence
Wannabee authoritarians can “take over” institutions by corrupting them first, then claim it’s proof that they need to eliminate or rebuild them. It’s a wrecking ball approach.
E.g. usurping the authority of well trained and dedicated experts in the field of medicine. Obviously there are a lot more examples of this in other areas of expertise. I might be posting more short and sweet explanations like this one. (I learned how to compile youtube shorts into one post, so if anyone adds any shorts, let me know if you DON’T want me to add it to a scrollable list of shorts.)

PopeBeanieModeratorJust started listening to a U of Minn CIDRAP podcast this week, and coincidentally ran into a short (below) about the beginning of state (and other lesser than federal) agencies rising to fill in the gaps of our suddenly increasingly incompetent federal public health agencies. (I think the west coast states have started something too, but I haven’t looked into it yet.)
This is good news for medicine and public health.

PopeBeanieModeratorCan/will Trump/DOJ “manage” blue polling places? Is it a dress rehearsal for 2028 elections?
October 29, 2025 at 2:44 am #59175
UnseenParticipantI’m afraid the situation is worse than most of you realize. Here’s a “what if” for you: Forget rigging the election by all the ways people are discussing. What if he declares a national emergency and simply refuses to leave office? He already ignores the law and is on the verge of defying court orders, and all the means of enforcement come under the umbrella of the Executive Branch.
At that point, our only hope will be the military.
And even then, once removed, The Supreme Court made him immune to prosecution no matter how traitorous and subversive his action.

PopeBeanieModeratorAt that point, our only hope will be the military.
Trump keeps acting stupid and unaccountable, intentionally claiming ignorance of some of the people and policies affected by decisions made by his kabal that are borderline criminal or mafia-like.
To what you’re saying about how the military might be our only hope, the administration with a Project 2025 agenda written out and being followed, has at least a couple of years left to “adjust” military leadership and culture.

PopeBeanieModeratorI failed again in my prediction that MAGA would become aware enough of the pain that even they will inevitably feel, e.g. wrt losing health care (and now food support) for low income families. It is happening, but their core love and trust in their father figure/cult leader is largely still there.
As is the hate of libs and any of vestiges of woke culture, no matter how contrived and generalized as “destroying America”. Like in the following case, persecution of transgender identities.
14 minutes (including the usual Legal AF self-promotion at the end):

PopeBeanieModeratorAll insurrectionists (and Christian Nationalists) in the audience, come on down! A president can pardon any and all criminals ahead of time?

PopeBeanieModeratorTrump & Kabal, and Bannon and Project 2025 behind the scenes make headway while pumping out executive orders and any kind of rage and cult enthusiasm they can stir up to produce distracting headlines. I feel dumb not realizing, up until today, that releasing the Epstein files could have also served that purpose. Unless Trump et al knew it would hurt Trump, so call it a Dem hoax and DON’T release the files!
That wasn’t mentioned in the following 6-1/2 minute video, but that’s when the above realization finally hit me as obvious.

PopeBeanieModeratorAdam Kinsinger served as a savvy and (relatively) good-hearted Republican Congressman. He and Liz Cheney had the gumption to be the only GOP to serve on the Jan 6 select committee. Kinzinger was one of ten House GOP to vote for Trump’s second impeachment.
Also taken from Wikipedia: ‘On February 4, 2022, the Republican National Committee called the events of January 6, 2021, a “legitimate political discourse” and overwhelmingly voted by voice vote to censure Kinzinger, along with Representative Liz Cheney, for taking part in the House investigation of the Capitol assault.’
