Enco i am an iconoclast to a fault. Makes me sick seeing a big fat ugly cross in a hospital. Crosses adorning morons same. And lots of other similar reactions. But i would take that good friday comment as a good natured joke. If a Muslim came into the store and said you are killing me here waiting on you to ring me up. Oh but that might work out in my favor as i have always fancied 72 virgins. Or a guy wearing a kippah who says hurry the F up, i am with the chosen people and choose to be served pronto. I am a Hindu and i pay homage to the monkey god. If you don’t get off your dead ass and serve me i’m gonna ask the big monkey in the sky to tear this place a new asshole! No?
How many times the stinking go-to brain rot comment, everything happens for a reason? To me it means there is a guy in charge and he has shit orchestrated in advance and you are not privy to his plan so that little occurrence that was anywhere from unfortunate to life changing devastation will work out for the best. It is an infantilization of any sort of world view that is not mythological and narcissistic.
April 19, 2025 at 8:55 pm #57080Unseen, Deporting Citizens to a place where they couldn’t exercise right to counsel or due process would be Unconstitutional. But not non-Citizens.
And if the 1952 law giving the Secretary of State power to deport for foreign policy reasons is Uncontitutional, wasn’t it so under every subsequent President including Obama or Sleepy Joe? Where were the complaints against that law then?
Your whataboutism only works on the assumption I think throwing due process out the window is only wrong when Trump does it. False.
Sleepy Joe? That’s a MAGA epithet. If you’re a MAGAhead, it’s time to come clean.
Seems like a lot of people complaining about arbitrary use of power have either been asleep a long time or just not happy with who has it now.
The person who has it now is someone who wouldn’t think twice about throwing anyone or anything if it benefitted him or suited his prejudices. He’s destroying the world’s economy seemingly as an experiment or for fun. He’s clearly a racist. There are many instances ranging from his refusal to accept the innocence of the so-called Central Park Five and his testimony that the operators of Native American casinos “Don’t look like Indians to me” to his Obama birtherism.
As for Universities complaining about losing funds because of their Identitarian discriminatory policies and hostile campus atmospheres, here’s some perspective:
President Eisenhower sent the 101st Airborne to Little Rock, Arkansas to see to it that children could go go school regardless of their “race” without getting mobbed by Zombies who were eat up with hatred. Nowadays, the University faculty and Deans are among the Zombies and are just jonesing for the latest Walking Dead episode.
Since I can’t take that literally, I doubt if it’s a fair characterization, and even back then, I doubt if the racists made black girls do go go dancing. LOL
April 19, 2025 at 11:09 pm #57081Jake,
The Good Friday remark was not good natured humor. This old Christian asshole was proclaiming the store and it’s employees should work for free for him…in a store that has gone for years without a bonus because of looting.
And I never drag my feet on getting jerks like the examples you cited out the door and away from me.
April 19, 2025 at 11:25 pm #57082Well i can’t argue Enco. You were present to assess the spirit of the comment.
April 19, 2025 at 11:42 pm #57083Unseen,
Whataboutism is a Fallacy, but What-it-is-ism is never.
And “Sleepy Joe” is used more than just by MAGA. It’s really too generous, because it assumes Biden has the sentience to need sleep.
If Trump being dictatorial, let the Courts declare the statue Unconstitutional instead of just ruling on it this one instance, and let Congress have the stones to reassume it Constitutional power to make laws on Immigration and Naturalization.

TheEncogitationer. Reason: Spelling correction. No dictator required

The Zombies I refer to are not the 60’s British Invasion band. The crisis in Little Rock predated them. I’m referring to undead things in human form who travel in hoards and prey on real humans with brains.
The mobs in Little Rock met that description. The mobs on campuses today are little different. An armed escort for the would-be victims is just the cinch in both cases.

I was tempted to tell him to “consider the lillies” or to go get his carob and locust from the wilderness.

“What-it-is-ism”… Not a thing.
Like which circles? Trump introduced it the way he ciharacterizes all of his opponents with negative adjectives. I’ve never seen or heard a non-MAGA or non-Trumpist use the term, but I’m open to looking at some examples. Or…maybe you hang out with folks who talk that way(?).
Moving to- the middle paragraph, Biden had enough on his plate to tire a young man. Even so, his term accomplished a lot including leaving office with the lowest inflation rate in the First World. Most of Trump’s waking accomplishments during his first time fall into the negative category (reneging on treaties, using the presidency for personal gain, using his position to engage in slander, etc.), but he’s outdoing himself in his second term.
As for your final paragraph, it seems elliptical in places and you might want to consult with a high school English teacher about when to capitalize.

If Israel stopped its genocide and seige warfare against refugee camps, it might make the protestors less sympathetic. And I don’t approve of victimizing Jews on any campus anywhere. I’m for treating innocents as innocents be they Jews or Palestinians.

What-it-is-ism” is calling things as they are. It’s not only a thing, but should be applied to all things.

All right. I’m not MAGA and I call him Sleepy, as well as Creepy, Cranky, Tankie, Tapioca, and Corn Pop. They aren’t exclusive.

Inflation came from stimulus spending of both Trump and Biden and only came down somewhat as money worked through the economy, then stopped. Hardly an accomplishment attributable to Biden.
As for your final paragraph, it seems elliptical in places and you might want to consult with a high school English teacher about when to capitalize.
Immigration and Naturalization are a Department as well as Congressional powers.

If anything, isn’t what is happening an auto-genocide by Hamas against Palestinians, much like the Khmer Rouge against Cambodians, as well a seige created by Egypt and other Arab and Muslim nations who won’t take in Palestinians?
Not one Israeli gun, missile, or bomb would be going off across borders if October 7th, 2023 never happened as it did.
