Reg the Fronkey FarmerModeratorFirst the important stuff – A fellow Pastafarian has won re-election to a town council. It is hoped that soon we will be able to wear our full pirate regalia to work. Praised be His Noodly Appendages!!

I was momentarily lost for words when I read that even Paleontologists are suing Trump for his monumentally poor decision. It’s enough that the new tax plan is a major attack on science.
Mankind has been trickling out of Africa for 120,000 years. In Borneo one man digs through 20.000 years of human history in three weeks while in Scotland an ancient meteorite is found.
It would seem that the central nervous systems evolved independently several times.
There seems to be something the anti-matter with Neutrinos.

Reg the Fronkey FarmerModeratorHave a great week everyone!!
“Faith is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate evidence. Faith is belief in spite of, even perhaps because of, the lack of evidence.”

ParticipantI wonder if that’s why some people end up with sensory problems…because the CNS evolved 3 separate times
I’ve seen lots of my conservative friends on Facebook talk about Ben Shapiro for president. He talks a good game and it’s honestly frightening…

Simon PayntonParticipantThe “religious left” – this sounds like a good thing. Is it there to fight against the “religious right”? Or is it there for “nonpartisan movement-building”? I prefer the latter. I don’t think these movements for change have to exist only within the zero-sum left-right conflict. In fact, that is a very narrow paradigm.
I can see how the religious right can be seen as a “problem” in themselves – mainly because their position can seem stubbornly irrational – not because I disagree with their actual policies. Maybe they have a point in some ways: they should be listened to for their perspective like everyone else.

Reg the Fronkey FarmerModeratorGoing to celebrate the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem for Christmas is like visiting a cave in Crete to celebrate the birth of Zeus.

Reg the Fronkey FarmerModerator@Simon – The problem with the religious right is that they are wrong and the religious left have not. They are still here. Religion – giving both sides hope in a world torn apart by religion.

Reg the Fronkey FarmerModeratorMost excellent Robert. If you ever hear about people finding “The God Delusion” or “God is not Great” in a library or a bookshop’ “Religion Section”, I was probably there. In fact we should all do that at every chance 🙂
