She has also explained how she, a British Jew discovered her cohorts at the Guardian where she was a writer were explicitly Jew haters. It is simply endemic among progressives. (Progressives is a supercilious name for regressives) The artifice/edifice gives great cover to the brain dead for their hatred and utter betrayal of humanist values.

There is nothing liberal about supporting HAMAS, their objective, their ideology, or their Iranian warlords. Islam is not a liberal institution. Lost writers or college professors don’t control a liberal mind. However, an illiberal mind is required to believe they do.

Totally in agreement that the term liberal is inapposite for progressives and the labels do get confusing at times. But when i use lefty, progressive i am referring to the far left who are woke and have the oppressor/oppressed belief, selective bleeding heart for certain classes of oppressed and Jew hatred supported by a mythology based on lies. Can’t get much more illiberal than they are.

Melanie Phillips is no moron! Strictly speaking you are correct in that characterizing the western liberal mind as single minded is stupid. She means lefty. And she is very well versed in it. She was part of that crowd. I have seen it myself for a long time. It is more evident since Oct 7 but that mindset has infiltrated the media, academia and is part of the zeitgeist. Mainstream media shamelessly and in my estimation deliberately repeats the lies. Genocide? Yeah it is a fact. (i laughed recently when CNN said “wherever the facts take us.”) Everything that the Gaza Health Ministry (Hamas) states is reported verbatim. Endless lies that mainstream media repeat about Israel. They are starving the Gazans! Fake videos. They are committing genocide! Stories proven untrue over and over and they keep going to the same sources of propaganda for Palestinianism.

I like your term hive mind. In my estimation the far right and far left are mirror images of hive minds. On the right Trump is somehow a cult figure. It is amazing to me. I don’t have to elaborate on Trump. But he speaks and they listen. If someone can’t see through Trump? How is that possible? On the far left the most infantile constructs and base mythologies that come down from on high with the brain dead utterly absorbed and subsumed in emotion. I don’t expect anything from people who BELIEVE in Trump. You gotta be some kind of moron! I still remember how Mark Cuban initially supported Trump. I thought to myself this guy is supposed to be smart? Both hives are essentially the same and they despise one another. They can only see through the prism of their ideologies.

It is a religion and millions upon millions have been and will continue to be indoctrinated by it. Just keep repeating lies like our friend the propaganda minister and they will believe ya.

The consequences? Perpetuation of Palestinianism which is the faux cause of justice in a culture that is utterly iniquitous and frighteningly barbaric. Complete betrayal of the human rights of nearly 2 billion born into that cult the great majority of whom share that aforementioned palestinianism that gets propped up by lefties and is reenforced to and from Islamists.

Perpetuation of the number one cause ending Israel and killing Jews. Protecting Islam which is far and away the greatest source of persecution, oppression and suffering today. Aiding the infiltration of Islamism into the west and the inevitable clash of civilizations with untold blood to be spilled. The myopic and obssessive compulsion to revel in the putative evil concerning Israel results in not seeing what should be seen. Actual genocide and apartheid and human rights abuses the world over. The utter corruption of the UN, Amnesty, ICC etc. Those institutions are garbage as a direct result of the lefty religion of Jew hatred. As you have pointed out the far left got Trump elected.

Awesome video! The Geothermal generators at the base of super volcanoes are a definite super possibility…though Eco-Wackos would balk at puting them up and we would thus be sacrificed to their volcano gods. They would definitely balk at putting a geothermal plant at Yellowstone.one. Also putting solar panels in the Sahara would contradict planting trees in the Sahara. I’m surprised that the producers didn’t catch that.

But before all this, we could just stop siccing code enforcement on neighbors for backyard gardens. We could acknowledge that plastic itself is a Carbon sink and landfills are even bigger Carbon sinks, which in turn are, properly engineered, perfect platforms for constructing.

We could also acknowledge the fact that Nature has never been a delicate, pristine, steady-state thing, and engineer accordingly.

Some place that could go below sea level in a second might not be the best place to develop a home or a city like New Orleans or a nation like the Netherlands unless you have a Looney Tunes “wed button” to lift you above it all.

Ms. Phillips’ analysis seems to chop the left into two distinct and separate camps. One reasonable and siding with Israel and the other totally antisemitic. Are there avowed liberals taking down pro-Israel posters? No doubt. And the reason is that when you have the numbers of people involved, you’ll get all sorts of attitudes.

She assumes that if one detests Israel’s conduct in this war, the only reason can be hatred of Jews.

Come on.

Yes, there are some of those, but there’s plenty of room between the two poles of 100% support for anything Israel does in this war and the opposite one of hating anything Jewish. Hating some of the wretched excesses of Israel’s warfare, for example. One can do this without becoming antisemitic.

Thanks for clearing that up. At first glance, I had thought that maybe ‘substrate’ was a reference to the inner layers of the Earth possibly to be used in geothermal energy.
