Their religion in entangled in their government, their laws, their customs. Show me a former Muslim immigrant and I’ll show you someone who can acclimate and socialize. I see posts and videos from long-term UK residents who welcomed immigrants and are now starting to get fed up with it.

Black Americans, on the other hand have faced centuries of racism and still do. Discrimination by law enforcement is common. Lots of black young kids are trapped in a death circle of poverty and violence. The community needs to do work inside the community as well. We all do. Trump and the rise of white Christian nationalism is a huge setback in this regard.

I’m aware of protests at universities against mass killing of Palestinians, and people calling these protestors “pro-Hamas”, but really, generalizations that all progressives feel that way?

I’ve not even picked sides, because of the crimes on both sides, and the possibility that the only plausible end is Israel completely exterminating Hamas, Hezbollah, and a majority of Palestinians on the side.

Are there statues of Bush in Iraq? Will there be statues of Trump in Jerusalem someday?

While so many surrounding Islamic theocracies and terrorist orgs will just continue to own their populations so they can’t even dream of religious freedom or secular government. Why is that not an international crime?

First i readily concede that one can ONLY generalize about an ideology. Would you object to characterizations of positions taken by evangelicals or libertarians? If we can’t generalize then we can’t evaluate a set of ideas. If you don’t share the tenets of the mainstream ideology then by all means abjure your association. Or express your objection to aspects of progressivism.

The students at universities in the USA were primed by progressive Islamist professors who were intentionally spreading lies about Israel and Jews. I was happy to learn that there are at least a few schools in USA that have not been infiltrated but it is nearly universal. Based on reaction to the events of oct 7 and their aftermath it is similar in much of the world in which open Jew hatred has manifest. Are there any places on the goddamn globe where antisemitic acts post oct 7 have not skyrocketed? Canada is much worse than USA so that it is literally dangerous for Jews to be there. Thanks progressives. Some of these professors are terrorists from the middle east both in Canada and USA. Surely you are aware of the mini religion of Jew hatred from the progressives that has its roots in nazism and soviet antisemitism. (BTW i can’t wait to see one of those q square debates or whatever they’re called pitting foremost experts against each other on these topics.)

Agree with you that USA invaded Iraq on a BS pretext and a great many died as a result. The flag of USA was waved and Americans got behind it. Same thing happened in the Spanish American war. When USA invaded Mexico it did not even have much of a pretext. I think if conservative Americans had been aware of the reality of those situations some would not have supported it. Are you similarly inclined? Or is there moral equivalence between both sides because of their putative crimes?

I can’t imagine any nation handling the ongoing existential crisis the way Israel has. If you take the time to read about the history of the region and of Israel you will see that it is a better country by far than any of the surrounding nations who get no criticism from the progressives. Instead they get excuses for why they are the way they are.

I don’t understand your point about islamic theocracies and islamic terrorists. Those are being coddled and supported by progressives. The notion of islamophobia is disturbingly dystopian. Shielding from criticism the direct cause of so much evil by an ideology that has liberal roots but has morphed into something so illiberal is truly disturbing. Free speech was such a key value of liberalism. Progressives are also encouraging Palestinians to continue their futile struggle instead of bettering their lives.
