To Do or not To Do 8 years, 11 months agoIndeed. We will, unfortunately, remain totally in the dark and swim in purposeful speculation, until someone invents that big red button. Will it happen in our lifetime?

To Do or not To Do 8 years, 11 months agohow do you think that people would explain all the Bibles and Qurans and churches and temples and such?
People would look at the holy books in the same way they look at Shakespeares play or the Illiad or Zoroastrian books.
People would look at sacred buildings and percieve them just as we do now with Roman and Greek Ruins or the Pyramids…[Read more]

To Do or not To Do 8 years, 11 months agoI know this thread has been dead for nearly two years, but I can’t help but wonder why nobody brought up the obvious (to Me) question: If the button removes belief in God, and the memory of belief in God … how do you think that people would explain all the Bibles and Qurans and churches and temples and such? And what would the paid clergy…[Read more]

Men of Atheist Zone 10 years, 9 months ago@Strega, colour is determined by the wavelength of light an object appears to emit. If a colourblind person debates the fact that grass is green, they are wrong…
Unless it’s the middle of an Australian summer. In which case, the grass is very very dead and brown.
More to the point, yes, you can be wrong all by yourself. You can lie to…[Read more]

Men of Atheist Zone 10 years, 9 months ago@bellerose I don’t need anyone to bow down and kiss my feet. With barely any discomfort, I find I can kiss my own feet adequately should they exhibit a deficit of affection 🙂

Men of Atheist Zone 10 years, 9 months agoCan you define wrong, in this context? Are we specifying the nature of the statement? For example, “Grass is green” would be open to debate, particularly if a person is color blind (I am SO fucked off with autocorrect removing my ‘u’ from every second word – colour just dropped the u)
However, the statement “Grass looks green to me” is less…[Read more]

Men of Atheist Zone 10 years, 9 months agoQuestion:
If a person speaks their mind in a forest and no one is around to hear them, are they still wrong?
Answer:
If the person in the forest thinks the words they have just spoken are wrong, then the person in the forest is wrong.
The inverse is true as well.I on the other hand am always right and everyone else is always wrong. 🙂

Men of Atheist Zone 10 years, 9 months ago“Can you be wrong by yourself? Or is veracity rooted in community consensus?”
True is true even if no one believes it. False is false even if everyone believes it. Yes, you can be wrong all by yourself.
