michael17, will you please make the case for atheists who regard all religion as utter nonsense and lies. Can you give some argument or evidence for anything you believe?

Very much related to the contemporary scene and our conversation is a new movie on Netflix. Don’t Look Up. I recommend it.

michael17…Reg, you are more knowledgeable than billions professing to be  Christian

Just come right out and insult the guy, why don’t ya? Geesh.

No, Unseen, i agree that if the party that initiates the coup stays in power we won’t soon have a return to the constitution.  But if the usurper is ousted then an immediate return is highly probable.

I had a Hindu acquaintance who was earnestly describing the attributes of the monkey god and so very convicted in his beliefs.  It was only by virtue of biting my lip that i avoided laughing.

Unseen, I am with you on all points except perhaps the prospect of a return to the constitution after its suspension.

Christmas cheer and Christ, hermeneutics and spice, an emetic for the peripatetic ascetic.

We may be headed for civil war but that was not in my estimation a particularly strong case. It is not that historical precedents are irrelevant but no  proximate causation or specific factors putting us in jeopardy are given by the speaker.

I wonder if it is a common theme as an empire is about to crumble that the citizenry feeling threatened is less rational and more prone to cults and anti-government movements and all manner of lunacy. It sure feels like a substantial majority of the USA is chock full of nuts.

All true Robert.

But how probative are any of those to the future of the USA? Cuz it is also true that every empire falls. And the vast majority never sees it coming.  I am not sure we if we are in a tinder box ready to ignite or if this is a blip on the radar.

Strap in sports fans.

Michael 17-It is indeed challenging to explain how a planet the size of the earth has a moon that size. The most accepted theory is that there was a collision with proto-planet , Yet it’s remarkable that it is exactly 400 times smaller than the Sun, which is exactly 400 times more distant than the Moon to allow for perfect total eclipses. H…[Read more]

If the GOP has its way and a coup is attempted it may well come down to the military. It is pretty clear that Trump alienated the generals with his… i know more than all of the generals.  I think they’re mostly well educated and truly would have an allegiance to constitution and country and view Trump as a traitor.  Without the military h…[Read more]

Bill O is more imbecilic than i thought if he is being genuine in that clip.

Be interesting to know how many Muricans would be persuaded by B. O.
