Reg the Fronkey FarmerModeratorRemember the Blues Brothers line – “What kind of music do you usually have here”? “Oh,we got both kinds. We got Country and we got Western”!!

_Robert_Participant@unseen, I really enjoyed the Bach and quad harpsichord piece you posted. Even with the four of them they were almost overpowered by the strings. I ran across this very young Slovenia orchestra doing this short Offenbach duet. See if you can isolate the mezzo. Normally I don’t care for many famous mezzosopranos. There are better versions of this tune out there, but this singer has a beautiful sound, great pitch and timing.

PopeBeanieModeratorPMJ makes me smile so much and I can’t stop watching but they get millions of views so I think y’all have probably seen them already so I won’t post any more unless someone says PMJ is new to them and so… well, let me know.
Meanwhile that guitar sliding and pickin’ in Human blows me away and I watched it like six times in a row and I still can’t believe it. Yeah, just watched it again.

PopeBeanieModeratorI rarely get nostalgic, but here’s an iconic moment from 1983, recorded on film. (A song I think more people should see!)

_Robert_ParticipantI rarely get nostalgic, but here’s an iconic moment from 1983…..
Jammed on that with my band last night and I happened to record it. I would like to add it to our standard setlist

PopeBeanieModeratorWow, what a coincidence!
Are you performing on that recording, too? Is it an aerobic performance?
I should post the lyrics for everyone (but I haven’t checked them):
Heard of a van that is loaded with weapons,
Packed up and ready to go
Heard of some grave sites, out by the highway,
A place where nobody knowsThe sound of gunfire, off in the distance,
I’m getting used to it now
Lived in a brownstone, lived in a ghetto,
I’ve lived all over this townThis ain’t no party, this ain’t no disco,
This ain’t no fooling around
No time for dancing, or lovey dovey,
I ain’t got time for that nowTransmit the message, to the receiver,
Hope for an answer some day
I got three passports, a couple of visas,
You don’t even know my real nameHigh on a hillside, the trucks are loading,
Everything’s ready to roll
I sleep in the daytime, I work in the nighttime,
I might not ever get homeThis ain’t no party, this ain’t no disco,
This ain’t no fooling around
This ain’t no Mudd Club, or C. B. G. B.,
I ain’t got time for that nowHeard about Houston? Heard about Detroit?
Heard about Pittsburgh, P. A.?
You oughta know not to stand by the window
Somebody see you up thereI got some groceries, some peanut butter,
To last a couple of days
But I ain’t got no speakers, ain’t got no headphones,
Ain’t got no records to playWhy stay in college? Why go to night school?
Gonna be different this time
Can’t write a letter, can’t send no postcard,
I ain’t got time for that nowTrouble in transit, got through the roadblock,
We blended in with the crowd
We got computers, we’re tapping phone lines,
I know that that ain’t allowedWe dress like students, we dress like housewives,
Or in a suit and a tie
I changed my hairstyle, so many times now,
I don’t know what I look like! You make me shiver, I feel so tender,
We make a pretty good team
Don’t get exhausted, I’ll do some driving,
You ought to get you some sleepBurned all my notebooks, what good are notebooks?
They won’t help me survive
My chest is aching, burns like a furnace,
The burning keeps me alive-

_Robert_ParticipantYeah, I am playing the clavichord sounds…..It is a good song if you have a crowd dancing they will stay on the floor for that one. I wore out my scratchy “remain in light” record. Most of my Rocker friends were not fans, LOL.

UnseenParticipantTo me, Waits seems like a pretentious hipster,
Give me an example of an UNpretentious hipster.
