Zionists believe God gave the Jews Israel and in the Abrahamic religions, when God gives you something, it is absolute and a stronger right than any political or human right.

I know you don’t believe God gave Israel to the Jews, so where does their right to Israel come from? The Jews have suffered, it’s true, but the argument that this requires making an entire country to be a Jewish homeland, forever, seems to require some premises to be a complete argument.

Plenty of Jews see Israel as an unjust and illegitimate state or if they do see Israel as a legitimate state, they nevertheless cry “Not in my name” over the unjust ways it treats the Palestinians.

If Israel isn’t an apartheid state, what is your definition of “apartheid”?

Ya did it with trans issues. With Russia? Now this? Playing Socrates, devil’s advocate, stirring controversy has its place. It also has consequences when you are so often dishonest in what you assert. But i will say i bet ya once you’ve decided to play a game you are influenced by the tendentious content. I have a friend who is a died in the wool atheist and did an experiment subjecting herself to various stripes of woo and it influenced her. Imagine echo chambers for those already convinced of the conspiracy theory or whatever the chamber is echoing?

Judging from his behavior, Biden isn’t aware of much of anything, and between him, Trump, Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi, and John Fetterman, we have changed from a Republic to a Democracy to a Dementia-ocracy. At what point will you grant that maybe Israel’s response to Hamas’s attack is becoming a little bit excessive? Six bombs in a residential area to try to kill one guy?

Nah, Biden is plenty smart and has maximum experience. He has seen and done it all. One does wonder if the people who conflate intelligence with a speech impediment are all that smart, however. Being quick on your feet is overrated in this country. How about a deep thinker with long-term solutions for a goddam change?

Plus, it’s not like some incredible candidate has popped into existence to sweep the entire Democratic Party off its feet at this point. If we got a president who panders to the college snowflakes and Jihadist set; you can start counting the days or hours till a real fascist takeover happens.

I don’t think Biden has a speech impediment. He speaks haltingly and in a soft tone. Can only speak with oomph in brief bursts. Struggles to find words. There is an unmistakable decline in his affect and speech. Has he declined cognitively? Does he have early dementia? I don’t know. But if he is elected again i would think the VP will become the president.

I will take Biden over Trump any day. In fact Trump would represent a transition to fascism.

I never would have guessed it until recently. But i agree the far left is dangerous and would probably cause a pendulum swing to the far right.

I think the far left is like all radical movements. Being pure, having clean hands, standing up for the forgetten and oppressed is more important than winning. It’s the pose that’s most important.

For now, the Dems are killing themselves by being ahead of the public in the culture wars (e.g., trans rights, immigration, guns) and by being even bigger warmongers than the GOP nowadays.

No, because they are not Hamas.  All this death is simply about Arabs wanting to “genocide” every Jew in the region and anyone that allies with them. There is no moral equivalence or justification just because of the number of dead bodies they suffer because of their attacks. I remember seeing the film showing Palestinian men, women, and children all dancing on crowded streets as the Twin Towers were burning. These people want to bury Western civilization.

Your position could be used to justify a genocide against the Palestinians quite apart from the one Israel is carrying out in response to the Hamas attack on October 7. They are vermin, in other words. Good riddance to the lot of them. Maybe the Nazis had the right idea, just applied to the wrong ethnic group.

No genocide but war, which is what exactly what Israel is conducting in its own defense. It is what it is, no matter all the special pleading. They are the self-admitted protagonists, deemed a terrorist government by the UN and just like any nation or terrorist group that invades or attacks others; they will be rendered harmless with or without their sacrificial civilian collateral damage PR campaign. If they raise the white flag, and come out of their holes, they will live to be charged as the murderers that they are, and you know that.
