Happy Holidays to all! I hope everyone is safe given the extreme weather events. Later today Ameca, the humanoid robot, will broadcast a Christmas message on Channel 4 in the UK. I will link it here when I get a chance.  See also last video below.

    Reg,

Happy Winter Solstice Holidays to you and all at The Atheist Zone!

Today, it’s just another day so far to do things I haven’t had the chance to do the rest of the week. Even though my vehicle has a full gas tank, a new oil change, a topped-up radiator, and now a new battery, the damn thing still won’t turn over at all in this bone-cold weather. (“Global Warming” sure has a funny way of showing itself!)

The problem is either electrical or chemical because, well, that’s all that exists, right? Whether solid, liquid, or gas! 😁

I had to catch a cab to work on Christmas Eve and will have to do so tomorrow and the mechanics won’t be open until Tuesday!

I wish more people regarded Christmas as just another day so I could possibly get a mechanic out to my vehicle now!

Here’s the Holidays are better to you and yours and that the coming New Year is better for all of us!

    Reg,

Does she do automotive work and house calls? Once I get mobile, I would gladly get her a case of RoboCop’s favorite baby food as a gratuity. 🤖😁

    😂 😂 😂

I’m going to start celebrating winter solstice instead of Christmas.

    #46249

@Belle Rose – You could start here to celebrate the winter solstice. You can even apply for a lottery ticket to enter the chamber on the day. It is less than an hour from me and “the locals” have been going there for over 5,000 years 🙂

I even came out one day to find Joe Biden’s security detail wandering around the field!

Apparently the Roman festival of Saturnalia had a lot to do with Christmas.

Wishing you all a wonderful secular holiday season enjoying Christmas (if you celebrate it) and any other holiday as well as New Years. I’m truly fond of all of you (even those I frequently disagree with) and enjoy chatting and exploring topics with all of you! Enjoy very much your precious time off.

This is my first Christmas without my mother, and since she has left us, considering how unconditionally loving she was and how much she told people this, I’ve developed a habit of telling people a lot more frequently what they mean to me. The holidays is an ideal time to do this, and I strongly encourage you to tell your loved ones and friends this year what they mean to you. It doesn’t even have to be soppy…a simply phrase such as: “I’m glad to have you as a buddy” will mean a lot to your friend.

Enjoy the holidays all and, thanks once again Reg for a lovely Sunday School

Davis  You are one of my favourite members. You post thoughtful, well researched views and carry an inherent kindness that underpins your writing. I consider it a privilege to share this site with you. Thank you for enabling me to let you know how I value you 🙂

Thanks Davis. I have recently started saying “Thanks, I appreciate that” more often when someone does something for me. Telling someone that you appreciate their action is more welcomed than just a ‘Thank you’.

Just imagine if we all agreed with each other all the time on this site?  We would have left years ago 🙂

    Kind words Davis.

It is evident from a few years of reading your posts that you are a kind and thoughtful person. Good advice given in your holiday message. If i may add one thing it is for those able-bodied who are inactive to add exercise to the mix-make it part of your life.

It is good to express appreciation to others. I just hate it when it gets to be mindless rote. eg…Y’all come back now, ya hear? How ya doin?

I celebrate Christmas in a secular way, treating it as a time for getting along with family by communing with family members and exchanging gifts. I just don’t express any religious sentiments, treating Christmas like Halloween, as a holiday that long ago lost its original religious meaning.
