The doors of the library had to be locked to keep the mob out and New York Police–men with guns, pepper spray, and batons– had to escort the Jewish students out to safety.
Locking Jews in their homes, temples, barns, and shtetl meeting houses and setting the buildings on fire was also a common practice among Jew-haters throughout history, so I’m sure all of that was running through the minds of the Jewish students as well.
No, there was not a lynching and you can review my words to see that I didn’t say there was a lynching. I said that in the situation, the Jewish students could easily have been lynched.
Nothing “scumbag” about stating a fact and fuck anybody who says otherwise!

So? This doesn’t imply any actual threat. The only wrongdoing appears to be moving the demonstration into campus buildings which probably isn’t allowed.

They did do so. They also escorted the protestors out without incident. Police presence at protests is fairly normal these days. Tactics often focus on preventing escalations or deescalation where possible.
Locking Jews in their homes, temples, barns, and shtetl meeting houses and setting the buildings on fire was also a common practice among Jew-haters throughout history, so I’m sure all of that was running through the minds of the Jewish students as well.
The school staff chose to lock the doors to keep the demonstration from moving through the library. That is a far cry from “jew-haters” locking them in. You draw the most violent comparisons but the only thing those protestors actually did was move their demonstration through the building.

I didn’t say you said anyone got lynched. I’m saying you’re using your imagination to tar and feather a group of people by conjuring up images of lynchings that were never going to take place. It’s a scumbag move. I 100% stand by that.

How many of the nearly 20,000 people killed in the last year for which we have statistics (2022) were killed by someone exercising their right of self-defense.
Well, we don’t know exactly because nobody seems interested in accumulating this statistic (least of which, I’d waver, the NRA or GOP).
However, I watch the evening news just about every night and if we’re talking about someone defending his or herself on the street or from an attack by an intruder in a home or business or similar kinds of situations, it seems to be rare almost bordering on “never happens.”
I’ve given you the statistics before detailing that anywhere from 800,000 to 2.5 million times a year, guns are used in Self-Defense situations and detailing that in most instances, the gun is merely presented and not fired, much less inflicting injury or death (albeit, the shooter has to be willing to do so for the deterrent effect to work.). I’ve shown this repeatedly and you simply won’t read or care.
So, it seems like (a) the good guy with the gun has very little work to do and (b) they’d have even less if the bad guys found it a lot harder to obtain guns in the first place.
Need I tell you that “seems” is not the same as so.
Also, let’s note that not every killer is a person with a history of crime or drug addiction. More often than not it’s someone who got pissed off and had a gun handy and ended up doing something they’ll regret till their end of days.
Sorry, I missed my cue here. Am I supposed to feel pity for murderers?
Between your stance on self-defense and your stance on Israel, I can only conclude that you are a morally-inverted, deranged old goat, right there with your buddies John Meersheimer, George Galloway, and Noam Chomsky! All of you can go play bocce ball in a field of fire ants for all I care!

They do. And I stand by them. You’re trying to tar and feather a group of people by presenting them as a threat in the form of lynch mob, but that threat of lynching is purely a byproduct of your imagination. It has zero evidence in support. It’s a rationalization to support the conclusion you started with. It’s bigotry pure and simple. It’s disgusting.
Instead of acting all offended, why not just stop acting like a scumbag?

Enco i despise Putin. What are you talking about? Russia is allied with Iran and Israel is allied with USA so their support of Hamas is hardly a surprise. Russia, and Ukraine have a long and storied history of antisemitism.
You say you despise Putin, yet you want to negotiate with the asshole when it comes to Ukraine, even though his record regarding Israel and Hamas is decidedly Anti-Israel and Anti-Jewish, even though Jews in Russia oppose Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, even though President Zelenskyy in Ukraine is Jewish, and even though this latest Anti-Jewish rampage in the Russian jurisdiction of Makhachkala, Dagestan linked above happened under Putin’s happy and willing watch!

We don’t know fully what the New York mob was up to, but we do know Jewish students were scared enough to want to get away and we do know the library wanted the mob to stay away as well.
The mob in Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia were not just demonstrating, but were hunting Jews to dox and harass, and possibly to harm and murder. And given the hatred of Jews and Israel unleased worldwide by the attacks of Hamas on Israel, Jews everywhere have good reason to be suspicious of mobs.
Personally, I, as a Gentile, an Atheist, and a Libertarian, think mobs are bad news even in good times. They can and will do things that individuals can’t and would never have the courage to do separately.
Folks, Avoid, Deny, and Defend applies to mobs as well.
Avoid mobs wherever possible, stay out of their element, be where they are not and where they are averse. With the help of Information Age technology, there are many ways go get anything you want from food and drink to groceries to sales merchandise to even work and education without jumping into a mob.
Beehives stay away from bodies of water and smoke, so metaphorically jump in and start the smudge pot when the hive is near. If despite best efforts you happen to find yourself among a mob, “go grey” or unnoticed, dress undescript, stay quiet, guard your weak spots, and make your way to the edge and escape.
If they attack you, try to stay above them so they have to work to get you. If you don’t have a weapon, use anything on hand to hit the weak points of eyes, throat, groin, solar plexus, knees, and the vagus nerve a.k.a. “the funny bone.” Do not fight fair with people who would rob, rape, enslave, or murder you.
In an extended fight, try to find the mob leader and take the leader out first and the drones will scatter. Try to corral them into a single focal point and fight them one at a time or try to set them against each other.
As security expert Dan Starks always concluded his radio program: “Fight With Your Mind!”

Despite 911 calls from students and their parents, police said they did not feel any lives were in danger. Mayor Eric Adams tweeted, “While the students at Cooper Union have a right to peacefully protest, hate has no place in our city.”
Students from NYU, Columbia, CUNY and other colleges staged similar rallies to call for an end to civilian casualties and killings in Gaza as the Hamas-Israel war continues.
Police confirmed there were no other incidents relating to the walkouts.
No charges are expected because no threats were explicitly made at Cooper Union.
An NYPD spokesperson on Thursday said uniformed officers will be stationed at all college campuses in the city moving forward in response to the incident at Cooper Union.
I’m sure it was a tense and intimidating situation, and it does seem to violate CUNY’s policies on protesting. If CUNY administration wants to take some form of administrative action on that basis, so be it. However, people feeling threatened and the actual existence of threat don’t always align. There is ZERO evidence of potential for lynching or murder aside from the fact that nearly all humans are capable of lynching/ murder at least hypothetically. But these humans, given what we know, were no more likely than you to lynch anyone on that particular day. Well, no more likely than me. I have my doubts about you.

Only the morally-inverted and deranged would consider that to be self-defense.
First of all, part of the rules of gun safety is that you know what is in and behind your target and do not point a gun at anyone or anything which you do not intend to destroy and lay to waste utterly…And someone driving in front of you with their back to you is clearly not something to defend against with a gun!
With a snarly or even a dangerous driver, the proper response is to avoid them, keep a safe distance, get their vehicle license tag, vehicle make, model, color,and descriptive stickers or marks. Get the driver’s physical description if possible, and note the general direction of the vehicle. Then try to get to a safe parking place on the roadside if possible and/or use your hands-free mic with your smartphone and call the police or State Troopers. Video dashcams are a big plus when collecting all of this data.
Then after you’ve called Ossifer Friendly, let him take care of seiging or stop-stickihg the driver, foolowed by fines or imprisonment. No gunfire from you required.
And speaking of, both driving a vehicle and shooting a gun separately require full attention and
Immediate situational awareness. These tasks cannot be multitasked safely or competently by humans presently constituted. Don’t believe TV or movies to the contrary.And please come up with better non-morally-inverted arguments if your going to make your case!
