Sunday School 1 year agoPeople can use their critical thinking skills to support their unconscious prejudices. Greyhound racing, for example, is quite wisely banned almost everywhere in America and yet horse racing, which is exactly the same thing applied to a different species, persists.
Go figure.

Sunday School 1 year agoI got my basilicas/cathedrals mixed up. Sorry. My limerick should read…
A PAPAL RHYME OF TRUMPIAN PROPORTIONS
Trump said from his Washington home,
I’d love to be the Bishop of Rome.
Because Pontiffs are fine
Just one Pope at a time
And St. Peter’s has one HELL of a dome. -

Everyone, including her sisters agrees that, of the three, Ale is the one who coulda been a model. Her sisters are also quite attractive, but not tall enough and, well, Ale is simply a fashion photographer’s delight.
And yet, I just ran into this picture of Dany, and it’s by far the most attractive photo of her I have ever seen.

Sunday School 1 year agoAn Ode to The Trump Slump
Old Trump he shuffles, his head hangs low,
Another factory its workers dumped.
He used to whistle, watch the good times roll,
This time the economy has him stumped.
Within his chest, a heavy, aching dread.
The vibrant pulse of commerce as it fades.
He reads the news, the fearful words are read
About the faltering country…[Read more] -

That said, slaves have rebelled and freed themselves. There are many examples…[Read more]

Sunday School 1 year agoPerhaps atheism asserts nothing but an atheist can assert that God doesn’t exist and here I am doing it.
God does not exist because he/she/it is impossible like a round square, counting to infinity, or unringing a bell. If that is true, then God’s nonexistence is true to a mathematical-level certainty.
Consider an…[Read more]

@unseen you made the exact point that I also thought. Empathy is the feeling when you can relate to an injury or event because you have been through similar events and you feel knowledgable sympathy. Sunday School 1 year agoThe article on consciousness gets into an area I’ve always found fascinating.
Consciousness is an illusion in the sense that our perception of the world is given to us by our brain. Is an orange orange in color out there in the world? No, because outside of a nervous system, what we call orange isn’t a color at all, it’s a wave length. In that…[Read more]
