Sunday School 1 year, 8 months agoHave a great week everyone!
For ages, a deadly conflict has been waged between a few brave men and women of thought and genius upon the one side, and the great ignorant religious mass on the other. This is the war between Science and Faith. The few have appealed to reason, to honor, to law, to freedom, to the known, and to happiness here in this…[Read more]

Sunday School 1 year, 8 months ago@jakelafort – absquatulate, a great word to have in the vocab.
In future, in a debate with a theist, should I fail to expostulate, I will just absquatulate rather than remonstrate and I won’t care who’s looking, especially when the theist is more intransitive than the verb 🙂

Sunday School 1 year, 8 months agoI once spent about 20 minutes explaining that Intelligent Design was not a valid ‘science’ to a Muslim apologist who was arguing the opposite. Someone asked me if he could expound upon the points I had made and I was happy to allow him to take over.
I have never tried to teach a theist any science since then and I insist on only debating or…[Read more]

It may be about attention span. I’ve been watching videos of reactions to the classic 1979 sci fi/horror classic Alien and the younger the viewer the more likely they are to complain that “nothing happens until a half hour into the movie.” Yeah, nothing but scene setting and character development. They want the horror scares to start right…[Read more]
