A ‘tsunami’ of church closings is poised to remake America.
“None” is not synonymous with atheist. Combining atheists, agnostics and people who simply don’t belong to a religion can obscure considerably more than it reveals. The dataset has been made publicly available, so I expect some interesting papers to emerge from this.
The Dep…[Read more]

Politics 2 weeks, 5 days agoTrump and his ascension to power is so much more a condemnation of us/human nature than it is of him. So far beyond pathetic that no words can express his path to power and how he wields excalibur.
And remember there has never been an excalibur like it…

Artificial Intelligence 2 weeks, 5 days agoI’ve said a few times now, I believe the problem will be “bad actors”. It’s increasingly easy for bad actors to use AI to benefit themselves or promote an idealism, with potentially horrible consequences.
AI is already able to design human gene-editing processes, with abilities to edit any other species on the way, including pandemic-enhanced…[Read more]

Politics 2 weeks, 5 days agoOld news, but new episode. Republicans in power in Georgia helping Trump/DOJ interfere with their midterm election. Interference began innocently enough back before the 2016 election, when Trump claimed that elections are rigged. This was when he wasn’t expected to win, and then he won.
But he kept “rigged elections” as a theme, created several…[Read more]

If that fantasy of breaking bread/smoking a joint/having a beer with intellectual luminaries materialized i’d include Sagan. Cool guy. Popularizer of science. Endless curiosity and humility.

Sunday School 2 weeks, 6 days agoQuoting him to lefties is like quoting Trump. If it is Trump reaffirms he is a very stable genius… not exactly an affirmation with lefties or anyone in their right mind for that matter.
No argument with that Jake.

Sunday School 3 weeks agoOctober 7 event extraordinaire. Vigil and a flick.
Oh i wish i could be there in Toronto.
Glorious Martyrs. Gaza Ghetto Uprising. I mean that later name is oddly familiar. I am sure it is not coopted and is an innocent description. These Torontonians must be really pissed at Egypt.

I don’t know if you remember but we saw a vid with the guy who worked for Reuters. And yea it gets copied over and over as though it were honest reporting instead of activists spinning and spreading their filthy ideology.
This is a pretty cool vid by Sagan except it is AI and i don’t even know if it is Sagan’s…[Read more]

Sunday School 3 weeks agoEnco,
Predictably CNN downplayed the role of Islam and terrorism. One of their guests opined it was most likely a pilot who lost his marbles. Fox on other hand if memory serves said, “it was a Muslim from Oman.” Lefty media is forever downplaying role of Islam in motivating terrorists or wrongdoers. The rapists of Europe are just part of the…[Read more]

I think i see now what i missed then. Reg is using 100%/analogy as a tautology thus enabling an identity. Ok.

Artificial Intelligence 3 weeks, 2 days ago100 percent analogy is not analogy. Just is not. Identical twins are comparable and analogizable. (new word is like a neologism.) Yet they’re not identical and thus proper subjects. Once identity is evident it is properly tautology time. Never the twain shall meet..
“As for similes, what are they like?” If we can only answer a simile with a…[Read more]

Artificial Intelligence 3 weeks, 2 days ago100 percent analogy is a contradiction in terms. If there is no line of demarcation, no variation and no way to distinguish things being compared then it is not an analogy.
Seems to me speaker’s typically convey something negative when they point out a tautology. It is a needless repetition. Pointing out a tautology is a way to rebuke a speaker…[Read more]

Artificial Intelligence 3 weeks, 2 days agoI would like to quibble…I might be wrong so won’t swear on the holey bibble….but would a 100% analogy not be an ‘identity’? A tautology is a statement true by its logical form. An analogy that matched in every respect would simply describe the same thing twice?
When it comes to tautologies, either I’m being pedantic, or I’m not being ped…[Read more]

Sunday School 3 weeks, 3 days agoI never really understood the way a Jewish population stays in Germany. I remember reading racist anti Jewish laws that required Jewish immigrants to live together in a Jewish ghetto. A German woman told me no way. I gave her the site and she consulted other Germans and could not invalidate the law.
This is the wake up call perhaps to GTFO.…[Read more]
