You’re leaving out the ultimate cause(s) of the problem, and why Israel is in this position. First, treating the Palestinians like nonentities by the U.N. to establish, not even just a Jewish state but a Zionist state (there’s a difference), forcing them out the way we moved Native Americans off the land as our European ancestors wanted their land and, second, the disdain and violence of the Israeli police and military toward the Palestinians.

The left’s hyper-focus on Israel is worse than simply holding Israel to a higher standard, to promoting anti-semitism, to blatant hypocrisy, to racism towards Jews; it is shifting the focus from where it belongs to history’s scapegoats.

All of the victims of religious intolerance in the world’s massive cult and enforcement of dictatorial madness regulating every aspect of their lives. IGNORED. Lets pretend everyone has a choice about religion, that it is freedom to permit indoctrination of babies into a cult. It is patently obvious that indignation of the masses, of the left, could be directed towards legit and high-minded goals.

But nope. It is look the other way at everything that is most despicable or tragic. As Robert brought up in the gender studies 0 coverage of Islam or religion in general. If you were a teacher and honest and a student attributed zilch to religion as a cause of sexism you would have to fail the student. It is pure madness that the left is enabling Islam and for that matter giving a pass to all religion. You have to give people the right to practice their insane rituals and have their beliefs but you can not in good conscience fail to attack the IDEAS.

Just a wee bit on the hypocrisy. Criticize Islam and you are islamophobic. Even if you view the Muslims as victims of a cult. BIGOT. Criticize Israel and great pains are taken to explain how it is not antisemitism. Protect evil in the first case. Promote hatred in the second. And if you had any doubt the impact of the hyper focus on Israel and all the attendant BS narratives then read the news. Have the lefties of the world viewed it as a critique of the government? Yeah i did not think so. Seething hatred. And sure it is absolutely true that criticizing Israel is not necessarily antisemitism. Of late their government has much to own up to. I have always thought that it is difficult to separate the sin from the sinner. Robert, the people poisoning OUR water and air and using our tax dollars to build rockets, bombs, fighters, destroyers and carriers are rich, too. Just on a different scale and with an equally oblivious and compliant public.

Israel is conducting its war with no regard to the civilian population. And since they are virtually all the same ethnicity (far more homogenous than the Middle-Eastern/European/Asian mix of Israel), it qualifies as a genocide. But if the Israelis, who are responsible for a lot of the ire leveled against them think genocide is an option, well, maybe the two sides deserve each other, eh?

BTW, I see Biden supporting the good ole “two-state solution” as though it’s an actual solution. Problem: Neither side has any enthusiasm for the idea, so if it were to happen, it would be another intervention from the outside.

One more thing: I love it when it’s asserted or implied that the super-rich “earned” their wealth. Every single dollar the result of their labor. In fact, many started off rich with help from parents or an inheritance (Trump), benefited from the help of friends (Jobs, Zuckerman), or were just ridiculously lucky (Bezos*). But, to be truthful, being at least somewhat psychopathic helps a lot.

* Bezos started by selling books mail order and then the Internet came along and, yes, he took advantage of that brilliantly. Had he unluckily started five or 10 years earlier, there’s a high likelihood he’d be at best in five or six figures today.

Let me remind you that Israel DE-occupied Gaza years ago but kept supplying infrastructure to those who want them dead. They would love to have as little to do with the place as possible.

Gaza used their autonomy to build tunnels and weapons. They allowed themselves to become an anti-West proxy of Iran and then attacked Israel. Israel could just completely level the place from 10,000 feet. Instead, they drop leaflets warning people on what they are about to do. They are putting their young soldiers in harm’s way going door to door to minimize casualties.

You tell me. What would the State of Israel do if a Jew goes off and just starts murdering Palestinians? What would Hamas do?  You know this. Fix your moral compass.

Israel will not accept a 2-state solution unless the unguaranteeable is guaranteed: That the government of the Palestinian state would be friendly toward Israel.. How in the world can killing thousands upon thousands of Palestinians, half of them children and probably more like2/3 or 3/4 of them women+children but then expect a Palestinian state to be nonhostile?

The prospects of artificial states to have friendly relations are always bleak, it seems. India/Pakistan, Yugoslavia, and now Israel/Palestine?
