The summer head in Madrid is making me slowly melt into a puddle of bio-mass. If anyone can instantly stop global warming…I will buy you a premium beer.

To Do or not To Do 10 years, 11 months agoSo the consensus is that pushing the big red atheist button would be a bad idea. I’ve decided not to build my time machine…go to the future…steal brain control technology…go back into the past…get Einstein and Turing to work out the details and create a mock up…and then come back into our relative time frame…and push the big red…[Read more]

I would vaguely pretend to be a pastor…meanwhile asking my flock about their faith and questions that might lead them to doubt…without ever trying to steer them back towards faith…even quite possibly affirming those doubts. I would slowly betray a growing lack of faith until eventually I told the congregation that it would be best to turn…[Read more]

LOL no…no misaprehension. I said no in extremely large font because this question comes up so often in so many different ways … and because characters like Dr. Bob repeated his nonsense about atheism as being something other than believing in his preposterous stupid imbecilic world view … that I thought it might be a nice idea to put as big…[Read more]

Belle’s question was… “Is atheism a world view”. The answer is no. Atheism is not a world view. Some people might take the qualities they used to become an atheist and exagerate those qualities in their daily lives (perhaps because of the hostile environment they live in or the desire to get other people from believing in their God) but that is…[Read more]

Davis replied to the topic Are we Islamaphobic? in the forum Theism 10 years, 11 months ago
Islamophobia is a word that is so abused it has lost almost all credibility as a reasonable descriptive adjective. When people say Islamophobe…they really mean anit-muslim (against muslims in general). I think that those who are anti-muslims need to reflect on why they generalise and attack an entire group of people who only share a set of…[Read more]

Atheism is NOT a world view. It is a lack of belief in God (or the rejection of all claims made that a God exists). That is not a world view. Not even close.
If you are interested in a world view…consider HUMANISM. Most people on this site are clearly humanists, even if they don’t say so (or even know so).

Tara,
Don’t for a second feel the slightest bit bad for responding to religious nonsense in a public environment if they bring the subject up in the first place. If they are so insecure with their beliefs that they get upset when you quote their own scriptures (which they likely quote themselves when its convenient) then their position is not…[Read more]

Lies. Dirty lies. That isn’t how it happened Dr. Bob. I am, in any case, surprised you haven’t been called out before for violating the guidelines. I will greatly miss the ducking and dodging and the disparaging judgements and comments about atheists and atheism. How ever will we get by without your “friendly commentary”? Bye

OK. I’m sort of dizzy after reading that response…and unfortunately I feel like I understand your view of the deist universe even less. Your last sentence is a very bold claim. I think you’ve shifted away from imperfections in an ongoing process now to a universal balance (that is…explaining away flaws through cosmic balance instead of the…[Read more]

The only way I could imagine that the universe is “done”; would be (and some scientists do have interesting arguments to back this up); if another big bang was to occur. But this would be more of a reset; than a state of completion in this case.
I’m curious to know however; what you are defining as “comp…

In Spain, McDonalds sells McLager, yes a yellow fluid that claims it is beer. If that is what you are offering, boil, my friend, you’re on your own 🙂
I read somewhere that many Russians welcome global warming for obvious reasons. Some parts of the world will have unprecedented suffering and other parts may even benefit, at least for a while.
I’ll take any kind of beer. Premium, domestic, craft home brewed. Global warming is a bitch. Pity the US president doesn’t believe in it.
