AI is good at summarising information, apparently. But can it do research – does it know where to look for new information? Can it ask the right questions? Does it know that it doesn’t know?

I am working on a tattoo idea about the merger of AI and Humanity (Trans-humanism) It will be the second last tattoo on my back (not much space left!) and depict an “AI Adam and Eve”. Of course it is all designed by AI and with some human ideas on the final edit. This is where I am at with it. I may also consider the second one. Any i…[Read more]

Scary/creepy thought: If the entire human population on the planet were wiped out leaving AI-controlled computers and robots, the AI could go on producing music and movies, if it had a reason to, such as entertaining itself to relieve the boredom.

…yes, it can. I’ve used AI to create poetry that would probably get a fairly high grade in a college-level creative writing class, so I’m sure some students only taking to course for the credits are already doing so.
What you’ll see below are two examples showing the state of the art now. First a song with visuals, music, and lyrics generated…[Read more]

Tariffs are often considered detrimental to the U.S. economy for several key reasons:
- Higher Costs for Consumers: Tariffs are essentially taxes on imported goods, and when imposed, they increase the price of these goods. This added cost is generally passed down to consumers, making everyday items more expensive. For products that…

Simon, The Arabs leaders refused the 2 State solution that the Jewish leaders had accepted, back in 1947. The Palestinians could have had their own State but decided they wanted more of the land designated to the Jewish State. That was two years after the world learned about the Holocaust. A year later they found themselves in another war.

The Jewish people were looking for a state and a homeland – as are the Palestinians. They have the homeland without the state. It seems like the Palestinians are being used as footballs by all sides.
A middle-Eastern homeland and state for a middle-Eastern people seems like a reasonable idea in principle, for both sides.

And no, you don’t get to arbitrarily pick a date when Israel began just because it is in the modern era. There are very few places where the very original inhabitants are still there, and Israel is one of them. In fact, the entire Middle East was absolutely non-Muslim until they conquered the region through war while worshiping their w…[Read more]

But how many of those baddies would exist except in response to Israel?
By your standard the Iroquois Confederacy is a nation-state. Like the European Jews, they were forced off their land and either forced onto reservations (open air concentration camps) or forced into the general colonial population where they are often reviled…[Read more]

Sunday School 1 year, 7 months agoNo problem unapologetic…Sunday School is an open forum. Aron Ra is an acquaintance of mine. We have shared a few beers and debates over the years since he first came to Dublin for the World Atheist Convention in 2011.
It took me a while to figure out why so many Christians worship Trump. It has nothing to do with their Faith. This is because…[Read more]

It’s not easy to change world views. Faith has its own momentum and belief is comfortable. To restructure reality is traumatic and scary. That is why many intelligent people continue to believe: unbelief is an unknown.

@ Jake
I asked a simple question with a yes or no answer: Would the Middle East be the tinder box it is had Israel never been created?
I haven’t heard you or anyone else say “Yes, it would,” so essentially you all agree with me, or so it would appear.

I was asked today by some Irish guy wearing a keffiyeh as to why Israel would bomb Iran when it is actually Hezbollah in Lebanon doing the fighting. I replied that is because hundreds of Sudanese civilians were aerial bombed to death last week. I think I only confused him further. Then I asked him if he felt sorry for the soldiers that died when a…[Read more]
