Your examples of prophecy fulfilled are not contextual to all the unfulfilled prophecies. We can’t tell a good one from a bad one until after the event, either. So we would be rather foolish to trust *any* prophecy in case it was a bad one.
This reduces the value of a prophecy to the equivalent of an astrology reading.

Netanyahu is pushing every possible emotional button to reinforce the Israeli response. If there’s a bit of Bible handy, he’s going to grab that. I don’t think there is any particular proselytism that is out of bounds when you’re rallying the troops. I wouldn’t take it seriously.
Now, tell me what the point of prophecy is if it cannot be trusted…[Read more]

What is the point of a prophecy that can only be relied on after the event?

Sunday School 2 years, 9 months agoThanks Jake. I was going to say that to address the overarching issue, I think fixing the health system would have massive positive repercussions inasmuch as medical liability insurances and workers comp stuff would be a fraction of what they are now, and a huge fear block would be lifted.
Then I think tackling the gun issues might be a viable…[Read more]

Sunday School 2 years, 9 months agoIt seems to me that guns are a part of a wider issue, which is that you can control people when a) they live in fear, and b) they’re indoctrinated with obedience.
We get the obedience indoctrination from the religions; enough said there.
The fear is created by a combination of health insecurity, financial shortages, and cultivated negativity t…[Read more]

Sunday School 2 years, 10 months ago@unseen The convenient similarity between white supremacy and Christian nationalism is that both base themselves on exclusive superiority and both denigrate outsiders. These feelings serve to justify bigotry in all its ways.
The Venn diagram of white supremacy and Christian nationalism would always have had a major overlap.

Sunday School 2 years, 11 months agoLaughs, you added that the owners flatulence acted in a Pavlovian way by training the horse to over-react and rear up at all similar sounds.
I am sure an argument for proximate cause could be made for the supplier of whatever culinary delights the owner enjoyed despite knowing they caused him flatulence.

The ambulance driver chose the hospital to which the rider was going. To a degree, he’s a link in the sequence chain. The hospital allowed the rider-patient to become infected – per…[Read more]
