@Robert I understand being ‘Chicken Shit’, maybe I should have been a bit more so myself. I’ve taken some pretty hard punches as a result of being open about my atheism.

@Strega I’m a bit perplexed by the acceptance of LGBT and other seemingly contrary social issues in these left leaning versions of christianity. How do they reconcile the conflicts within their divine texts and dogma?

@SteveInCO, I agree that the two issues are not congruent. What I see or feel is… there may be, at this particular moment, a crack in the theocratic political armor that might be make it possible for some advancement in the broader acceptance of atheists in american culture and politics.

    Here’s a suggestion kiddies. Kill’em with kindness!

Understand, I get the revulsion and the rage towards these closed minded and bigoted individuals. However, representing the rational and intellectual viewpoint with vitriol and fowl language will never bring them over to our side. Take a breath… gather your thoughts… and make a cogent and passionate argument for your position.

I agree, the design overall could use a bit more contrast.

    According to PEW

“More than a quarter of men (27%) now describe themselves as religiously unaffiliated, up from 20% in 2007. Fewer women are religious “nones,” but the religiously unaffiliated are growing among women at about the same rate as among men. Nearly one-in-five women (19%) now describe themselves as religiously unaffiliated, up from 13% in 2007.”
