That woman from the Mayo clinic is clearly being paid by big pharma and Monstanto. Her anti-vegan attack and smear-propaganda is designed to scare ethical and virtuous animal lovers from being their vurtious and ethical selves. Creating this vitamin B12 and Iron boogeyman, they aim to instill fear in the hearts of virtuous non-meat eaters and that…[Read more]

I’ve seen a few clips of the British one (and Spanish and Canadian one). They seem to be the same in every country. I watched parts of the Belgian/Netherlands first season (years ago). It was one of the saddest things I ever watched. I learnt later that the producers specifically pick highly outgoing and extroverted people, some of whom they…[Read more]

Indeed. Inconsistency in government policy is pretty universal. Even when it comes to a countries most important and cherished principles. For example: Washington D.C. is extremely unlikely to reach statehood despite having a larger population than Wyoming or Vermont and contributing more tax dollars than more than half the other states. It is a…[Read more]

It’s true Marx discusses democracy in his elusive paradise state, but it’s not the kind of democracy that we would recognize, and it would only arrive if the state were already democratic or after the dictatorial revolution fulfilled its goals. Since no Marxist state ever fulfilled its goals, the pseudo democratic Marxist state never happened. To…[Read more]

I always thought the best corporations I worked with had implemented many Marxist ideas
Indeed I had read that American companies that had participatory structures, and especially where employees had big shares in the company, were amongst the most successful. Which is probably why it’s done so little because tried, tested and demonstrable…[Read more]

Europe, Canada, Australia, NZ, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan pulled of mixed systems (not Marxist-capitalist but socialist-capitalist). It’s capitalist economic structure, social security education and health care for all, generous aid for those fucked over by or incapable of participating in the economic structure. Capitalism is the dominant,…[Read more]

Canada actually had/has collectives in agriculture. There was the wheatboard in central canada. They grew the most sought after wheat in the world and they were obliged to sell it to the government who then sold it abroad for a huge price. You got paid a commission plus the wheat you sold with a guarantee of an income. It was actually extremely…[Read more]

And progressives bear a lot of the blame.
You guys have lived apart from the rest of the advancing world for so long you’re so completely out of touch with what progressive even means. What these people are proposing is absolutely nothing revolutionary, controversial or extraordinary. They are proposing a very minor (and I’d say even…[Read more]

but share the views expressed by Trump on the four female Democrats.
But the status-quo works out quite comfortable for us straight white men. All Trump is trying to do is maintain the same way of doing things forever and writing a few harmless spicy tweets for those hateful women who viciously attack the standard-operating-system. Imagine a…[Read more]

@Ana sounds very toxic. I can stand religious people occasionally talking about their stupid religions. I cannot tolerate them bad mouthing races, genders etc or piling on the hate. It’s one thing to respect different opinions…it’s another to allow toxicity into your life…especially someone so quick to dehumanise others .

Seriously folks, when I read this I took it as an objective, dispassionate view of how humanity has historically abused people with no power, and profited from their toil
Nope. Not when you begin an explanation of something atrocious with a “to be fair” disclaimer. Yes, it admits that it was bad, but it tries to jam it into a history of other’s…[Read more]

people are livid that no English politician actually used the word”racist” to characterise
Actually Corbyn did.
Telling four Congresswomen of colour to “go back” is racist. But the Tory leadership candidates can’t bring themselves to say so.
We should stand up to Donald Trump, not pander to him for a sweetheart trade deal which would put our N…

I think the reactions of world leaders says everything, most especially the first one:
That’s not how we do things in Canada.
Trudeau
We take the view that our parliament should be a representative place, it should look and feel like New Zealand, it should have a range of different cultures and ethnicities, and never should a judgement be made…

It is astonishing how quickly western civilization advanced once the chains of religion were thrown off. It was like BOOM electricity, BOOM airplanes, BOOM deep understanding of physics, BOOM dna, BOOM landing on the moon. Along with enormous progress in human rights, a kinder society and stable politics. Wow. Yes, the moon landing really is a…[Read more]

The most problematic thing for me is that I don’t know why it happened.
She became an ugly person. I am very skeptical that religion explains it all. Religion simply has the ability to bring out the ugly and crazy in people. From what I’ve read from you, the answer seems to be entirely within the conflict and problems in her life. If you are a r…[Read more]
