Yeah the originalists..

One of the senators testified a few days ago at the jan 6 committee that the constitution was in his belief divinely inspired. He said it with such reverence. I am sure Jesus and a few of the apostles must have been in their ear.

As far as the 2nd amendment goes if the framers were most concerned about a citizen’s right…[Read more]

Correction* Schools will be able to ban weapons.

And Reg the holding is specifically handguns.

Unseen i hadn’t read or heard news today. So i found the text of the decision and gave it a one half over with one eye closed.

AS to the first question in re. to carrying i think schools would not be permitted to prohibit entry. As to airport security…same thing. Airports will be permitted status quo to prohibit a weapon. As to private…[Read more]

Yes, Trump is a reflection of a large minority of Americans. And no matter how far right you are it ought to be clear Trump has no real political agenda other than self-aggrandizement, is unhinged and possesses subpar intellect. No wonder he is a man of the people! First time i listened to Trump i wrote him off as a complete moron but i had…[Read more]

Vice President Pence, whose politics and overall values differ vastly from mine, is still to my mind a man who, if our democracy and the Truth survive 2024, will go down as one of the great American heroes. A man who, despite almost unbearable pressure, saved the Republic from a palace coup.

Agreed. I wonder had the mob gotten to him…[Read more]

The ideologues who believe in trump did not reason their way into worshipping him. They won’t be deconverted with reason either. To me it makes sense to confront the gathering storm now.

@unseen

Very well said Robert.

Hey, what about me. Did I make my case badly? LOL

Listen Unseen you’ve constructed a bowling alley, set up the pins, and enabled Robert to storm in and knockem dafaq down.

Very well said Robert.

The other thing US needs to confront is the rise of fascism. Justice for all who are not powerful is not justice at all. It is bad enough the better outcome for those who have the resources to retain a good attorney or team of attorneys. Allowing Trump to walk or leaving it up to the states is a major league cop out and failure.

Is love a drug?

Is religion the opiate of the masses?

Never knew bout no spinners or deltas and would have taken those plants for poison ivy. An impoverished edification in the bowels of American college life got me acquainted with bong hits and resin hits, hash on a pin, mushroom tripping for the win and ersatz education to foster a craven…[Read more]

Unseen, it appears you see addiction as i do. Some are genetically predisposed to addiction. Of course if we are correct there is the question as to whether it is a generally addictive personality or a susceptibility to only one or a few forms of addiction.

I just take issue with the dichotomy between physical and psychological.

Reg is…[Read more]

@Reg

In my non-professional opinion people become addicts because they have unresolved issues that they have not yet addressed. They don’t get addressed while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (or whatever your having yourself).

In my half-baked take let the sugar addicts eat cake. Addict has to be defined. I haven’t read or heard a d…[Read more]

Addiction?

I used dope almost every day in college. When college was in rear view and law school began i quit cold turkey. Don’t
remember any withdrawal, craving it or even thinking about it. When law school was over and passed the bar decided to open an office with my cousin who had just passed the bar. There were a few who thought i was a…[Read more]
