I’ll take as a win, the fact that we agree about Musk.

Feature Mod Request: At the top of every page is a Forums drop-down menu. It works fine, listing forums in alphabetical order, but it truncates the listing at the “Politics Forum”. The remainder of the list, should include 21 (or more) forums.
AI says a setting for normally limits the list to 50 entries. Two of its suggested mods:

Science — the kind that requires evidence and reason. 2 days, 1 hour agoMusk has blinders on like other groups he promotes on X who have trouble separating facts from conspiracy theories. I first realized this when he completely misunderstood and discounted how rapid Covid tests work, and what can cause false positives or negatives. He ranted against them, before many people learned how crucial they would become. Now…[Read more]

This is a new topic in small-talk, a test message for the topic, and mention of a useful feature some members will appreciate. Not to mention, but to also mention this mention, especially for @Unseen.
Useful (especially for me, found accidentally), visible when one clicks on “Forums” at the top of an AZ page: You’ll see not only a list of all…[Read more]

Just dove into the most common usages out there of the word “lefties”. I realized, while considering myself “left” on the political spectrum, I rarely use the words “lefties” or “righties”, unless it’s in a less emotionally derogatory, (hopefully) more enlightening polysci context.
My mellow’s been jaded by overdoses of hate in social media, with…[Read more]

Politics 2 weeks, 6 days agoOne thing I like using Groups for is to keep history of events, e.g. Trump Era corruption and other crises damaging Democracy. The following 23 minute video focuses on SCOTUS’s role in re-interpreting the constitution, and their “pro-unitary executive” decisions. Pope, you are no lefty. The ones i am referring to are cultists. They are not receptive to any information that may contradict their world view. In all of my dealings none are willing to read or listen to viewpoints that are outside their circle. I have offered to read or listen whomever they pick. I have done that and then critiqued the hell out…[Read more]
Thanks. But (lol), I think I will still call myself a lefty, even if progressive is a more respected term… and I don’t even know if that is true. So I’m *also* progressive.
I know you mean well, and I also appreciate other speakers you offer, especially the women because their experiences are so often more first-hand than the men’s.

There is no question you have identified an issue. What did you call it, labelism? What is in a name? So many labels are LOADED. Imagine a lefty/progressive hearing MAGA or reading it. Conversely a Trump cultist who hears/reads progressive/lefty. You know the parts of the brain that register emotion are excited. If the label fits you must never…[Read more]
