@unseen it’s particularly convoluted in the sense that the Hindu caste system is embedded in their society. Efforts to extricate Hindu preferentialism from the governing structure have to counter both religious and societal hurdles.

Before I read your post, I decided to watch a 12-1.2 minute PBS Newhour summary after all, and found it more interesting than expected. Watch how many hands went up when asked if they would vote for Trump if he was convicted, around 3:55.
