Bannon, in his evil genius way, saw this coming, and helped make it happen. There’s some kind of cycle of socio-economic evolution and reactive populism that he has an understanding of. IMO he and Trump are agents of disruption, deception, who smell opportunity, while finding other like-minded, collaborative organizations also smelling…[Read more]

I saw this when I was on YouTube yesterday, and recognized I had no clue about the German economy. (That’s what I should be embarrassed about.)
On a seemingly different topic, I have to say that I’ve left Google Search as my primary search engine, because it has become so bad, prioritizing extra clicks over linking to the most relevant…[Read more]

Sunday School 1 year, 12 months agoLiars for Jesus deny pushing religion in schools as the bills to enhance religion in schools spur fights between faiths. Is much of this the fault of those Supreme Court justices who are willing to put their own faith above all else even thought The Constitution explicitly implies that thou shalt not require the Ten Commandments to be posted in…[Read more]

It’s not like I never considered or explored the solution you offered.
You still use the window which has to be closed shut. That loses the window as far as I’m concerned. A further complication is that units in my building have windows that swing on side hinges. They don’t slide up and down. So a normal in-window installation is…[Read more]

Yeah, old folks in urban apartments are particularly at risk for heat stroke as all that concrete absorbs and reradiates the heat in the evenings. Many don’t have air conditioning. Speaking of “going under,” when someone wonders aloud what death is like I tell them that if they’ve had general anesthesia, then they do know what death is like. “You know that period between when you go under and when you wake up? That period of lost time? That is death.”

Interesting interview filling in a lot of the blanks fans wonder about like the songwriting process. Also, Ale is now totally grown up. No longer the quiet one who lets her extroverted older sisters talk for her. And why don’t they write more in Spanish?

I must have dashed off my last response without reviewing it. It should read “He can’t undo THE EFFECTS OF Roe v. Wade by arguing it now belongs to the states.” (emphasis mine, of course)

For many decades, the GOP whined about an “activist” Supreme Court. Until now, when that is exactly what they have in their pocket.
Today’s immunity decision is a giant step toward the imperial presidency they want a conservative President to have.
The next President will have unparalleled power to interfere in national affairs unbound by almost…[Read more]
