@TheEncogitationer – I don’t have a problem with the right to bear arms or the right to use all necessary force in order to protect oneself and family or even a defenseless stranger who is under attack. I take that as a given. But the 21 victims in Uvalde were defenseless. The NRA and its political wing, the GOP, should not see them as stra…[Read more]

Sunday School 4 years, 1 month agoIs America moving closer to having state-imposed religious-based laws?
Muslims are portrayed negatively in American media.
Once again, in Nigeria, members of the Religion of Peace burn another human to death to appease their imaginary god.
Hungary blocks EU sanctions on Russia because they want a spiritual purification of Ukraine.

@Jakelafort – I suspect you will find little to learn from it. You seem to be able to spot it 5 miles out 🙂

I adjust my opinion of politicians based on how my BS detector reacts when I hear them speak. I give them very little leeway before deciding if they are in politics for themselves or are actually wanting to resolve a real issue.
If I hear too much about Jesus or crime and not enough about human rights and green policies then they can just fuck…[Read more]

* This seems to be what many conservatives want as they complain about weak law enforcement that leaves the streets teeming with hardened criminals rampaging through the streets.
I was in the U.S. when the 2016 election campaign was in full swing and ‘many people were saying’ that crime was one of their major concerns. This was in a very aff…[Read more]

Is every Ukrainian “cowards” for bearing now privately-held arms–some 19th Century antiques–against Putin and the Putineers?
My friend in the Ukraine killed his first Russian this week with an M27 that was only unboxed 10 days ago. He texted me “No, the first one was easy”.

Gun massacres have become such a banal occurrence. There have already been 11 more since the massacre in Uvalde and maybe more if there were any today. Source.

Sunday School 4 years, 1 month ago@TheEncogitationer – Did you click the “church” link? I do like very old churches, especially the stained glass windows but I don’t go to for any inspiration or to hear their softly spoken magic spells. The link features a library that is in use for the last 290 years. My church has a DJ.

Yes, after each tragedy there is a surge in sales just in case the flow of guns might get halted. not likely in One Nation under Guns.

Sunday School 4 years, 1 month agoUnseen – God is great at forgiving Christians that never have to ask forgiveness from their victims. No engagement with them is required. Just be sorry that they feel hurt and then recite a few prayers and admit to feeling humbled by the experience which you are now learning from. Yes, vicarious redemption as Hitchens often discussed.
We m…[Read more]

Sunday School 4 years, 1 month agoThe Cuddly One might like our Irish whiskey but I doubt if he will like my favorite church. Spending a few minutes in silence there does wonders for me before I walk across to the National Gallery. That’s how I often spend lunch hour when in the city centre. That’s the plan for Tuesday.

I have had some training experience with firearms. While I don’t own any, I think anyone who legally want “to bear arms” should have official training first, just like when driving a car. Most untrained people will be unprepared for a life and death situation and are very likely to miss their target even when it is close to them. I bet it will be…[Read more]

Ted’s bogus One Door policy, apart from being a pathetic distraction from any real form of problem solving, would have proven very disastrous in the Columbine High School attack in 1999. As bad as that day was just imagine one shooter going into the school while the second stood outside the only escape route.

Some years back “The Onion” ran a headline about “Grave robbers pry valuable rifle from Charlton Heston’s cold, dead hands“. They have some more interesting articles today which are informative.

Actually, if you take the proposals by Cruz, Patrick and others literally, they amount to a call for turning the land of the free into a giant armed camp.

Who are they the NRA donating to?
While I don’t have my sources listed here, I am sure they are easy to verify.
They donate over $400K per year to Ted Cruz for his campaigning. Or I could say they buy Ted Cruz for over $400K a year to be their political mouthpiece. If he was to stop doing their bidding the NRA would immediately turn their backs…[Read more]

Let me know if you can read this link from a pay-walled New York Times. I can “gift” 10 links per month but not sure if it works on this platform. It may only be “”click once”.
