I tortured myself going through a dozen or so reaction videos on American Flags, trying to see if anyone found satire or humor in it, like they see in Black & White. The thing about flags, with me, is that the last time everyone was waving them in huge numbers was in the rah rah, “never forget 911” stages of invading Iraq, eventually destroying…[Read more]

This is blowing up on YouTube, and it kept me up at night. The rap’s too fast and I couldn’t get the words even when slowed to 50%. So I watched some reviews, and couldn’t learn what I needed to… so many reviews in the past few days, and I couldn’t find any that made sense to me. But I finally found the lyrics, see below. When I saw reaction…[Read more]

Scientists and philosophers are proposing a checklist based on theories of human consciousness. And how might science or religion apply the same measured criteria to a fetus, or developing infants? Politics 3 years, 2 months agoBefore I read your post, I decided to watch a 12-1.2 minute PBS Newhour summary after all, and found it more interesting than expected. Watch how many hands went up when asked if they would vote for Trump if he was convicted, around 3:55.

Politics 3 years, 2 months agoAug 24 2023 mug shot, Georgia. This pic is precious. His hair as perfect as it can be, and his facial expression is iconic, for a wannabee autocrat.

Have you checked the current price of your watch?. Look it up and tell us what it is. I bet it’s more than my least expensive one which was about $57.I just remember I paid about $40 for it about six years ago. But that was when I was poorer and did a lot of shopping… some number of hours.

Sunday School 3 years, 2 months agoIt seems at times that people misapply attributes to AI that are God-like, or possible someday. LOL, kinda like how early scripture writers assigned superhuman attributes to God(s).
So yeah, these designs and inventions came from mankind to start with, and LLM AI’s are not super “intelligent”, yet. It’s only applying algorithms to data originally…[Read more]

LOL, my definition of a “real watch” is one that keeps updating its accuracy, e.g. one that adjusts itself daily based on the WWVB signal transmitted from Fort Collins, CO. Such watches and some “atomic” wall and desk clocks also have this feature. Of course, “atomic” is a common misnomer for timepieces using WWVB receivers, as the only atomic…[Read more]

Tips 3 years, 2 months agoI write like an idiot, often. As a moderator I can edit my posts for hours, and I do that way too often. I don’t leave behind a trail of explanations of these edits, as they are often so numerous and the corrections I make are largely just typos and necessary clarifications to thoughts written too quickly. To me, there’s a strange, cultish feel to this “movement”. There’s an egotistical, narcissistic guy at the top who cares more about loyalty and support than about government competency and the majority of voting people in the democracy, the democracy itself being a pain in the ass for him. I think he wouldn’t have been elected if it were not for…[Read more]

PopeBeanie replied to the topic It's not Russia, it's Putin in the forum Politics 3 years, 2 months ago
If Ukraine is committing war crimes, they should be prosecuted as well as Putin. Yes, evil is evil on both sides. Does that mean that the context (e.g. while invading) and degree of crimes shouldn’t matter? Is shooting someone whom’s invading a home just as bad as the invader shooting people in the home? Does the invader get to blame people in the house?

It’s at least a diversion from Putin’s crimes.
I hope you’re not skipping the request for evidence, and the question about if Ukraine’s invading Russia to commit these purported war crimes?
