Politics 1 hour, 26 minutes agoMore on “last minute” attempts of election tampering, in progress. My link skips about 6-1/4 minutes into the video to save time, getting right to the news kernals. I’d say then that about 6 minutes that follow are worth watching.

It’d be most cool if MAGA recognizes and revolt against how Trump/DOJ/Election Deniers push plans to corrupt election results.

I remember Oct 17 1989, as the day a big quake, the “Loma Prieta” hit the SF Bay Area. I saw ripples move through the pavement of a parking lot, about 25 miles north of SF. Yet I’m still not prepared well enough for the next big one.

Politics 1 week ago“Just old news”, but IMO it’s “just” the newest version of Trump & DOJ’s attempt to meddle with our so-called corrupted election process that Trump, et al, has been claiming to be problem since 2016. The election denier cult hasn’t gone a way in ten years.
IMO Marc Elias has done more, in every state’s court, to fight and debunk Trump’s…[Read more]

Artificial Intelligence 3 weeks, 1 day agoI’ve said a few times now, I believe the problem will be “bad actors”. It’s increasingly easy for bad actors to use AI to benefit themselves or promote an idealism, with potentially horrible consequences.
AI is already able to design human gene-editing processes, with abilities to edit any other species on the way, including pandemic-enhanced…[Read more]

Politics 3 weeks, 1 day agoOld news, but new episode. Republicans in power in Georgia helping Trump/DOJ interfere with their midterm election. Interference began innocently enough back before the 2016 election, when Trump claimed that elections are rigged. This was when he wasn’t expected to win, and then he won.
But he kept “rigged elections” as a theme, created several…[Read more]

Artificial Intelligence 1 month, 3 weeks agoI watched it again, losing sleep, but feel I’m better able to understand of this flaw. I also got a summary from my Perplexity Pro AI:
You’re describing indirect prompt injection: malicious or untrusted content in a webpage—including HTML, hidden text, metadata, or page text—causes an AI agent to treat it as instructions rather than merely as dat…

Artificial Intelligence 1 month, 3 weeks agoEspecially for @RegTheFronkeyFarmer, this relatively new security threat (iirc) can manifest when AI has been given access to (e.g.) a web page that has an exploit embedded into the html. It sounds crazy, but there is a design issue using current LLMs that causes the AI to presume that it has encountered a valid prompt, that looks like it’s coming…[Read more]

Sunday School 2 months, 2 weeks agoSo about the podcast that delved into “AI Consciousness”. They barely mentioned until near the end WHY this is an important topic, and they noted their procrastination.
WRT my POV, it should mostly boil down to “What kind of ‘human rights’ might and should machines be given by law one day?”. Any live beings (as in meat bodies with brains) have…[Read more]

Politics 2 months, 3 weeks agoI’ll get back to responding on this forum, but one of Trump’s Shadow Docket “emergency” maneuvers is coming up within days. Be honest y’all, who here expects SCOTUS to do the right thing by not just kissing Trump’s ass?

Politics 3 months agoI’ve been expecting American politics and authoritarinist success to keep getting worse, and they have. I don’t get why others here don’t seem to be as worried or bothered by it. The live-studio, extended version recording of Escapism at the Honda Center is so notable, imo, and this reactor’s commentary is so enlightening (for me), I recommend watching it:

I didn’t post their new release “Ritual” because I don’t love. I don’t dislike it either, I just take it in as part of TW’s evolution, and I still believe they’re doing what they want to do, not just following orders from above.
Meanwhile, almost all of the all of the reactions I’ve seen have come in strongly loving it, including first time TW…[Read more]
