It saddens me that a generation of young men are being led up the wrong path by rapey misogynistic influencers like Andrew Tate. These young men are ripe for exploitation because they don’t necessarily know any better.
According to the theory of patriarchy that I follow, it’s a method of reproduction, at men’s convenience. Men need women in o…[Read more]

In this special case, any kind of documentary evidence is inadmissable to most people. Therefore, evidence is almost impossible to come by. That doesn’t logically mean there’s nothing there. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Simon, how are you using the fallacy of scientism? In what sense?I take it to mean the idea that what science can’t currently explain, logically therefore doesn’t exist.

I’m calling it a fallacy, that you can be so certain about it while not actually knowing. It’s the fallacy of scientism.
It’s a logically different uncertainty from knowing whether or not God exists. The case for God is riddled with logical flaws, as well as being redundant.

Yes, the babies can hear muffled sounds, including voices, and see light and dark from the womb.
People who don’t believe in life after death say there is literally no evidence that would convince them. They also say, it’s impossible, because it doesn’t fit any known scientific paradigm. All in all, the evidence against life after death a…[Read more]

I try not to follow it, but living in the UK it’s impossible not to.
Harry’s main problem with everything is that as he sees it, the UK press killed his mother by hounding her to death, and now he wants to protect Meghan from the same fate. Apart from that, he thinks the Royal family doesn’t like Meghan, (*because she’s mixed race*) which is…[Read more]

@popebeanie, if you’re interested in gene-culture co-evolution, you might like “Becoming Human – a theory of ontogeny” by Michael Tomasello. I don’t quite get his argument yet, but he says that “ontogenetic processes” (our life-histories) and the way that these interact with their environment produce new traits in humans.

Ukraine is winning with the help of Western military hardware. Russia is not losing because it has inferior military hardware. In most respects, it would appear to be an inferior fighting force, including the calibre of its leadership (Putin).
