Jake,
Sounds like an awful ride on the roller coaster of life. I just took a nasty fall hiking after slipping on ice so i am gonna rant a little about the left.
Naah, I will hold it in abeyance as it is painful to type.
I fully relate to spills and slips, since I now have to be especially careful of them
BTW hang in because a little birdie told me medicine is on cusp of revolution.
I keep hearing and reading from more optimistic sources that this may be the last generation to know natural death, but with my injury, I’m struggling to get over that dividing line.
And keep laying into the Left. It becomes less painful as you learn more about them and as you learn that they are no more friends of Enlightenment than their equally troglodyte counterparts on the Right.

Speaking of learning and the Left, David Horowitz runs a web site called Discover the networks, which documents prominent individuals and organizations of the Left. It includes extensive categories such as Anti-Israel, Anti-Semitic, Islamist, and Religious Left. Always interesting reading.

You guys beat me to post this insightful video. I’ll just add, Scientology cult creator L Ron Hubbard taught “The best defense is an offense”.
February 6, 2025 at 9:59 am #56111What a real-life ‘trolley problem’ reveals about morality.
This is very interesting, and shows what I always said: there is usually no single right or wrong answer to a moral question, but a number of right or wrong answers, one for each value that comes into play. So, something can be right in *this* way but wrong in *that* way.
February 6, 2025 at 1:28 pm #56112I must admit that I am unaware about much of the details of the workings of the Federal government, but besides funding some religious activities, USAID also serves as a relief valve, purchasing excess bumper crops from US farmers for export to needy nations. Midwest farmers are kinda upset. Where is that tiny violin. I’m kinda surprised they didn’t ditch everything except the church funding bullshit,
I also read that it serves as a frontline against Ebola and drug-resistant TB outbreaks and actually employs many Americans. I guess China and maybe even Russia will be glad to occupy the ‘goodwill’ vacuum. Now we can lower taxes on billionaires even more while waiting for the next pandemic!
When OSHA is gone and the hospitals fill up with injured and sick workers, Americans will ignore the lessons, no doubt. And when food inspections are terminated and we start getting salmonella and who knows what else, we are probably too stupid to make the connection.

What a real-life ‘trolley problem’ reveals about morality.
To me, it shows that Euro types have a misplaced love for Late Eighteenth Century modes of transportation (and their timing and itenerary) even unto the Twentieth and Twenty-First Century
The individually-owned automobile is not the irredeemable boogeyman that Eco Wackos make it out to be. Slow-Walking, Slow-Talking, Long, Lean, Lanky Jones could have a wench and a set of bolt-cutters in his 4×4 to save the people on the track.
And while Jones is saving them, Jim Dandy could do some kind of automotive derring-do and save the rest of the people.

Hubbard may have taught it, but the concept goes back at least as far as Sun Tzu’s The Art of War.
February 6, 2025 at 5:20 pm #56115Robert,
You mean that without USAID, US farmers couldn’t, I dunno, sell their bumper crops to Americans who could use more plentiful and cheaper food?
And you mean that Third World Kleptocrat dictators don’t already play all ends against the middle on foreign aid? Do you mean that these dictators have any good will to gain with foreign aid?
Orange Man isn’t the only bad thing in the world and might occasionally do the right thing despite himself.
February 6, 2025 at 6:07 pm #56116Some USAID programs might be viewed as a waste of American tax dollars and a poke in the eye to people with socially conservative values. They ask how do programs such as these benefit the United States?
USAID’s Transgender ProgramsTransgender Opera in Colombia: USAID allocated $47,000 for a transgender opera in Colombia, aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion. Critics argue that such projects stray from developmental or humanitarian goals.
Transgender Comic Book in Peru: USAID spent $32,000 on a comic book in Peru to raise awareness about transgender issues. Some critics question the effectiveness of these initiatives compared to addressing urgent needs.
Transgender Initiatives in General: USAID has been criticized for funding various transgender-related programs, including initiatives in Serbia, Vietnam, and other countries, which some argue are not aligned with the agency’s core mission of promoting global development and humanitarian aid.
Yeah, I know this kind of money is peanuts, but you can be sure that (a) it’ll be assumed that there are many more such small-ticket programs seeming to lack any coherent purpose and adding up to big bux and (b) they will be decried as evidence of a general mission creep away from policies with tangible benefits for the country.

February 6, 2025 at 7:21 pm #56118Yeah, you can look at foreign aid through a small scope of things, but if we are not there, China and Russia will be. And then, of course, then they have a pro-China dictator installed. An ounce of prevention. And if resistant TB runs rampant and jumps the pond, who is sorry now?
If we can’t see three moves ahead, as the previous American leaders were able to…yeah we are fucked. Hey Mussolini made the trains run on time.
I’ll agree the trans agenda was push too far, too fast. The egalitarian motives are just. I just wish they played it smarter.
Some of the crops our farmers grow are for rotation or cover purposes to enrich the soil. We don’t eat much sorghum here, but at least they had a market. But the leopards are munching on farmer faces.
February 6, 2025 at 8:22 pm #56119Egalitarian motives?
Really?
How much smarter than a vervet monkey does one have to be to know that protecting Islam against criticism and allowing it to infiltrate our media, our institutions and our nations is the way to insure the exact opposite occurs?
How much smarter than a vervet does one have to be to know that the hyper focus on Israel is a reflection of Jew hatred as opposed to reality and creates overt racism that amplifies preexisting Jew hatred and the soft racism of zero expectations from the swarthy Islamic nations? Depraved Islamic nations committing horrific acts on an ongoing basis and scot fucking free. Institutions like Amnesty and the UN that ought to mean something but instead Jew hatred on steroids. Lives of those born into the depraved and degenerate cult are VICTIMS. No renaissance, no reformation, no enlightenment. Just the inevitable outgrowth of even greater horror that we pretend is extreme. Like mainstream Islam is Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. No regard for women, for gays, for minorities, or any of the human rights we hold fundamental…let alone their influence on the rest of the world.
How much smarter than a vervet does one have to be to know from history and human nature that the constant reenforcement of the key words that falsely calumniate Israel will cause those identifying with the left to BELIEVE the lies? Genocide, genocide, genocide, apartheid, apartheid, zionist, colonial settlers… And our mainstream media all over it.
I apologize in advance to all vervets. I know you would not permit a leopard to do that.

February 6, 2025 at 8:53 pm #56121Jake, don’t know what you are going on about, LOL because it has nothing to do with my post. That’s what happens when you skim carelessly.

I agree, accidents happen, but let’s chew on this latest pronouncement for a while.
Trump announces “Anti-Christian Bias Task Force” during the National Prayer Breakfast to “eradicate anti-Christian bias” within the federal government and end the “religious persecution” of Christians in the United States.
February 6, 2025 at 9:51 pm #56123Robert, i did not skim. Read it. Understood it.
Only took issue with the notion that trans agenda had egalitarian motives. Superficially? Definitely.
Probably true of some other related movements as well. It is not authentic egalitarianism when villifying an oppressed group by another oppressed group. It is not authentic when one quarter of the human population is afflicted with a mind=bending mind virus and you encourage it. It is not authentic when Hamas is the good guy. It is not authentic when antisemitism is embraced. Selectively egalitarian? e·gal·i·tar·i·an
/ēˌɡaləˈterēən/
adjective
relating to or believing in the principle that all people are equal and deserve equal rights and opportunities. So egalitarian is inapplicable.
