Sunday School 8 months, 4 weeks agoI think the writer is “tilting at windmills” and is arguing a point that does not need to be made. It could even be deemed a “strawman argument”. Her critique seems aimed more at an imagined “scientific arrogance” than at how science is genuinely practiced. Very few scientists claim perfect objectivity; rather, they emphasize the method as t…[Read more]

Scientific objectivity is a mythI argue a more accurate view of science is that pure objectivity is impossible. Once you leave the myth of objectivity behind, though, the way forward is not simple. Sunday School 9 months agoEnco,
What is amazing is how ivy league schools before you can take middle eastern history courses you have to be indoctrinated into oppressor/oppressed belief. Take that class first. I am basing that contention on the say-so of a middle eastern studies student hearsay but i am guessing it is true. Can you imagine being that stupid that you…[Read more]

Sunday School 9 months agoEnco,
Sam Harris said of his ethnicity it is the least interesting thing about me. It ought to be but being Jewish results in lefties/Muslims condemning all Jews for the putative wrongdoings of Israel. And in the case of Muslims all Jews are evil. Pounded into their heads from childhood.
The entire construct of the lefties is an exercise in…[Read more]

RFK Jr. spits out a mouthful of asbestos and takes a swig from his sewage bottle.
“I can already see children getting healthier,” he gurgles, a bone from a roadkill bat lodged in his larynx. “The spike in measles deaths is a sign their mitochondrial vitality is spiking.”
His left ear drops off.

To the extent it is tried, to the extent it is true, doesn’t denigrate me as a half breed Jew. Nor immigrants eating cats and wielding bats to pulverize gnats. No side taken. Just the sordid acts and the varied facts.
Even so my idea is a little different. I want the democratic party and the population at large to utilize as a primary…[Read more]

Enco – yes the BBC has been called Auntie Beeb by Brits for longer than I can remember.
Edited to add that Auntie Beeb dates back to the 1940’s and consequently predates me altogether.

Sunday School 9 months agoYes, it turns out that four legs are good but two legs are better. At least now that the pigs have been found walking on two legs. I was confused too. But when I checked with the Ministry of Truth, I discovered that pigs have always walked in this manner. I was mistaken in my thinking that they ever walked on four. The Leader is good.

Sunday School 9 months agoYes, I would agree with you Strega and I now have Sky News back on my watch list. Overall the BBC is still very good so when they are biased it is really noticeable. I enjoy Question Time and I have no problem hearing diverse opinions in such a setting, especially as the host is normally very good at moderating the discussions. But the news…[Read more]
