Sunday School 3 years, 6 months agoThanks Davis. I have recently started saying “Thanks, I appreciate that” more often when someone does something for me. Telling someone that you appreciate their action is more welcomed than just a ‘Thank you’.
Just imagine if we all agreed with each other all the time on this site? We would have left years ago 🙂

Sunday School 3 years, 6 months ago@Belle Rose – You could start here to celebrate the winter solstice. You can even apply for a lottery ticket to enter the chamber on the day. It is less than an hour from me and “the locals” have been going there for over 5,000 years 🙂
I even came out one day to find Joe Biden’s security detail wandering around the field!

Sunday School 3 years, 6 months agoHappy Holidays to all! I hope everyone is safe given the extreme weather events. Later today Ameca, the humanoid robot, will broadcast a Christmas message on Channel 4 in the UK. I will link it here when I get a chance. See also last video below.
Atheists aren’t fighting a “war on Christmas” because Christians don’t own the idea of a winter…[Read more]

Sunday School 3 years, 6 months agoI did not know that about red blood cells. I had assumed that they consumed a portion of the oxygen they transported. Not something I had a reason to give much consideration to but always good to learn something.
I now tend to pick my arguments and debates more ‘wisely’. I often remind myself not to have an argument with a fool and to make sure…[Read more]

I agree with you there Robert. We should also bear in mind the history of Ukrainian resistance to Russia. I was chatting with my friend there last night. His district in the south was bombed again on Friday. He was telling me about the impact that the Stalin induced famine had on Ukrainians just 90 years ago. Many people had grandparents die…[Read more]

Also the Croatian players are smoking hot so I don’t mind watching them play at all.
I was watching their last match and a TV soccer pundit said “I think Croatia can go all the way”. A Dublin wit in the background shouted out “They can go all the way with me”, to much applause from her friends.

Often cited for being the longest sentence ever written is one by author James Joyce. In his novel Ulysses, the character Molly Bloom has a monologue that goes on for 36 pages and has a total of 3,687 words. The only reason that a sentence this long works is because it is a monologue. Molly is speaking her thoughts out loud, and when combined with…[Read more]

Atoms are so tiny that even the full stop at the end of this sentence has a width of around 20 million atoms. Inside each atom are even smaller particles, called subatomic particles. These include a nucleus, which contains protons and neutrons, and electrons that whizz around the nucleus.
Imagine an atom magnified to the size of a football…[Read more]
