Sunday School 8 months, 1 week ago@PopeBeanie Thanks, I have fixed the link. I think you will enjoy the video.
The idea for the 250th anniversary ‘celebrations’ came from a discussion I had with some Americans at the tailgate party for the “Steelers vs Vikings” game in Dublin. I should have put “lol” at the end of my comment….or maybe not 🙂

Sunday School 8 months, 1 week agoNext year the 250th anniversary of 1776 will see MAGA argue all their talking points to further justify what they are doing and politics will be fully aligned with Christian Nationalism. By the time of the next election there will be a visible military presence in most States. Trump won’t need to stand for election because of the ongoing domestic…[Read more]

Sunday School 8 months, 1 week agoFirst the bad news. Jesus forgot to rapture his followers last Tuesday, so they are still on the planet. But the good news is that next Tuesday is International Blasphemy Rights Day.
Data shows 35.8% of Moroccans identify as non-religious.

Reg the Fronkey Farmer replied to the topic Well, Benjamin, here's your Palestinian State in the forum Politics 8 months, 2 weeks ago
Right now, a two-state solution is still the formula most of the world endorses but the chances of either side accepting it are slim. Netanyahu and right-wing coalition partners oppose a sovereign Palestinian state, citing security concerns and biblical/historic claims. Many ministers advocate permanent control over much of the West Bank. Most…[Read more]

Sunday School 8 months, 2 weeks agoLeft and Right don’t apply to Islamic terrorism except that Islamists think that they are the only ones who are Right and should be the only ones who are Left.
I like that line 🙂

Sunday School 8 months, 2 weeks agoHours spent on religious indoctrination (especially in schools that emphasize rote memorization of doctrine) are hours not spent on inquiry-based learning, STEM labs, or building critical reasoning skills. When students are trained to accept authority and revelation as the highest form of knowledge, they often carry weaker habits of skepticism,…[Read more]

Sunday School 8 months, 2 weeks ago@jakelafort…. I used to have a t-shirt with that quote. I wore it back in the days when blasphemy was a thing in Ireland. It started lot of rows and arguments….which was my intention 🙂

Sunday School 8 months, 3 weeks agoYes, the fundamentalist position is where the religious should aspire to be. If one is ‘true believer’ then no reasoning is allowed in. NO point just being a “Sunday Christian”. Faith must become the totality of the brain process. Anything less is not acceptable to your peers.

Sunday School 8 months, 3 weeks agoAt some point in the past I remember thinking that religious fundamentalism was a byproduct of whatever religion someone followed. But it is not. It is the natural destination to arrive at if you stay the course of the indoctrination process. There are just degrees of how “mental” people become once they reach the destination point.

Sunday School 8 months, 3 weeks agoJust about everyone outside China underestimates China. They added about 357GW of wind and solar capacity in 2024. The total in the EU was about 80GW and the USA, a maximum of 60GW. China will probably be further ahead this year, around the 500GW mark. Yes, they are still investing in coal but have defined targets to phase it out in the long…[Read more]
