Another Mormon related story comes to mind. I know an atheist who grew up in Utah and was not terribly well accepted. I guess the schools were almost exclusively Mormon kids. On other hand he had never heard any antisemitism growing up and that is unlike any other part of USA that i am aware. Maybe reservations if they have not gone all lefty.

I don’t understand why eternal life is ok but being immortal is not. Is it because gods are known as immortals, ancient Persians? Is there something in the connotation of immortal v eternal?
