Was Diogenes Woke?
Where does one get that?
Diogenes wouldn’t want the “Free Palestine” crowd pitching tents next to his Grecian Urn home and possibly using it as a public toilet in his absence.
And Diogenes would care whether his lantern put him out of the Net Zero club.
And Diogenes sure wouldn’t want anyone of any identity getting in…[Read more]

I’ve got a book that says just that, and they make a good point. The Western Church, in the medieval period (500 – 1500 AD), dismantled the tribe/clan system of family favouritism, and this led to people becoming more individualist and also promoted the idea of free will (so that people could be judged, presumably). So, Christianity was…

Yeah, I know, it’s just a false allegory, like most of bible but it gets a point across. Plus, I think any frogs swimming in our little pond will get eaten by a largemouth bass almost immediately. There are a few very large (~10 lbs) channel catfish in there as well. I stocked the pond eight years ago.
Frogs are definitely smarter than m…

Scientific objectivity is a myth but not every idea deserves equal time.
Just because science is practiced in the context of a particular society, culture, or time period doesn’t mean science is bound to that context and not objective.
Something is objective when it’s there when you sleep and there when you wake or when you turn…[Read more]

Just frogs in a pot as the water begins to boil.
Contrary to that old urban legend, frogs only stay in water as young tadpoles. Grown frogs don’t stay in water, no matter what the temperature.
This actually makes them smarter than humans in that respect. Frogs don’t engage in The Sunk Cost Fallacy.

JD Vance’s Catholicism is displayed by admitting he is happy to commit war crimes.

All true. When I went to college, they didn’t have separate classes devoted to Woke power relations, but the same ideology was scattered in many specialized classes that usually ended with “-Studies.”
One history professor had materials promoting such Anti-Israel figures as Congressman Paul Findley and Rev. Jesse Jackson. A poly-sci…[Read more]

Important to note in discussing Wokeism: Bona Fide oppression is not a good thing to be aquiesed.
But what Wokeism gets wrong is making Oppressor and Oppressed into inborn attributes which are products of immutable categories such as “race,” “ethnicity,” nationality, sex, sexual orientation, or even ones imborn Class. In truth,…[Read more]

I’m truly confused.
It wasn’t too long ago that the “norms, values, and institutions” were all systemically racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic, transphobic, privileged, and just all-around no-good-nik. Now, Trump is back and all of a sudden “norms, values, and institutions” are the bee’s knees and all who condemned them are struggling…[Read more]

Opposition to Trump by disseminating daily/weekly summaries without political spin or charged terms associated with either party.
