PopeBeanie replied to the topic SCOTUS Gone Rogue, Politically & Ideologically in the forum
Politics 1 year, 11 months agoOK, I’ll expand this topic beyond SCOTUS. It can also be about neo-GOP, 2024 election, and Project 2025. (It’s a fricken conspiracy.)
10 minutes of Thom Harmann on JD Vance vs (childless cat lady) Kamala Harris.

Politics 1 year, 11 months agoThey’ve gone even further than I expected, and I was already pessimistic.
Hari Sreenivasan spoke with Leah Litman, law school professor at the University of Michigan about Trump’s classified documents case being dropped by one of the judges that Trump appointed.
Later in the interview possible remedies to balance SCOTUS were also…[Read more]

Bannon, in his evil genius way, saw this coming, and helped make it happen. There’s some kind of cycle of socio-economic evolution and reactive populism that he has an understanding of. IMO he and Trump are agents of disruption, deception, who smell opportunity, while finding other like-minded, collaborative organizations also smelling…[Read more]

PopeBeanie replied to the topic Sabina Hossenfelder says Germany is circling the drain in the forum Politics 1 year, 11 months ago
I saw this when I was on YouTube yesterday, and recognized I had no clue about the German economy. (That’s what I should be embarrassed about.)
On a seemingly different topic, I have to say that I’ve left Google Search as my primary search engine, because it has become so bad, prioritizing extra clicks over linking to the most relevant…[Read more]

Humble, fun, talented, creative, technical, professional, not a lame song out of over a hundred. I still get goosebumps, now even before the actual goosebumpy part because I know when it’s coming.
I ran into a one minute short, and just watched and re-watched it over a couple dozen times or so:

This voice teacher/reactor calls her reaction “emotional”, and I don’t think she’s faking it. She started with TW from third grade level and jumped right to a post-grad level in under 20 minutes. (That’s my lame metaphor.) Maybe it was too much, too quick, but I like when reactors unexpectedly tear up.

This reaction is fun, shorter, and they decipher the plot much sooner.

Sunday School 2 years, 2 months agoI think it’s been years since I mentioned Storm… way too long for this masterpiece. Thanks to the transcript, here’s one of my favorite bits of lyrics in it:
Science adjusts its views based on what’s observed. Faith is the denial of observation so that belief can be preserved. If you show me that, say, Homeopathy works, then I will change my…

Let’s see how their new album does.I don’t love the song you first suggested, a lot because of the mono-tonality of the singer, but that shouldn’t be a minus in every case. I accidentally ran into their newest release that’s only three hours old. I like it. It’s the 3rd video below. I looked for lyrics and lucked out. (I’m not impressed by the lyrics. Am I missing something?)

I eat babies all the time. (Before they’re actually babies.) IIRC, Japanese eating chicken and eggs call it Mother and Son, or something like that.
Another side note, I only recently learned that cheeseburgers are not kosher. Although this belief might depend on which flavor (err, I mean interpretation) of Judaism one adopts, it’s a violation of…[Read more]
